“Superb location, high spec property, responsive owners, a holiday cottage not to be missed!”

Just come back from a great week at Harbour Point, a stunning holiday cottage in the perfect location in Lynmouth. Ideal for couples or families, this property is so well located, with everything you need on your doorstep. The property is finished to a high spec, with great facilities. There's lots of steps, don't forget this is a character cottage, but it's so very well presented it's definitely worth it. A lovely old pub just around the corner and a smashing fish and chip shop next door, who could ask for more!

“You will not want to leave.”

Harbour Point is a superb holiday rental. It has the good fortune of a prime position on the Esplanade, giving the most amazing sights and sounds from most of the rooms. When the tide is in, the crashing waves are within earshot of the principle rooms. Even the Gold room, with its less favoured position, still gives glimpses of the harbour boats.

But it's not just the location that makes it so good. The property itself is wonderful and the photographs do not do it justice. The bedrooms are spacious and lovely. Tastefully decorated and furnished. The king size bed in the Balcony room was very comfortable. The ensuite shower rooms feel a little small, compared to the size of the bedrooms, but it is a very quirky building and so all the space has been used well. All of the bedrooms have plenty of storage space so everything can be put away. The same can be said of the kitchen. It is well stocked with all the essential utensils, a washer/dryer and dishwasher. There wasn't anything I felt I needed but didn't have. And there is still plenty of room to house all the groceries, which, incidentally, can be delivered to the door by Tesco. The lounge/diner is also a really pleasant room to be in and look out of. Again, stunning views and tastefully furnished. It didn't take us long to feel very 'at home' and we certainly didn't want to leave.

We have two small children (aged 4 and 2) and they also loved it. We didn't really venture out of Lynmouth / Lynton, having stayed in the area a few times before. The central location allowed us to stay local, enjoying the rock pooling, park, ice creams, picnic by the river, walk to Watersmeet and of course, the Cliff railway. What 4 year old boy isn't going to love that? We got a weekly ticket and he was more than happy to take the railway to Lynton just to buy a couple of bits from the small supermarket there. And to keep the husband happy, we were a 30 second walk to the pub, from where he could get himself a pint and bring it back to enjoy on the balcony. All in all, a really relaxing holiday.

My only one criticism of the holiday was that there were no opening restrictors on the windows. They are lovely big windows with deep window sills, unfortunately perfect for little ones to clamber onto and potentially fall out of. We overcame this by keeping them locked unless we were always with them. I mentioned this to the very helpful owner (Kirsty) at the end of our stay and she has said that they will be installed in the near future, which is music to my ears as we definitely plan to go back next year.

“Fab location with modern elegant facilities”

We had a lovely pre-xmas break in Harbour Point. With views of the sea extending to the welsh coast on one side, and Lynmouth harbour on the other, you just cannot fault the location. Inside, it is beautifully presented with all the amenities you could want - sheer understated elegance in the principle rooms, lovely and warm with bags of hot water, clean, great beds, digital tv and even broadband. The Village Inn deserves special mention for their warm hospitality and child friendliness; the tea rooms by the coach park were also most accommodating. The Santa Special steam train out of Woody Bay Junction delighted our 3yrs old boy and the missus bagged some 'bargains' at the Barnstable night market. All in all, a truly lovely place to stay.

“Fantastic Accommodation”

Well what a find! We stayed at Harbour-Point for a weekend break to relax and we certainly did that. It is a beautiful house with magnificent views. It is right in the centre part of Lynmouth which is ideal for walking/fishing, of which we did both. The accommodation is very well kept and all amenities thought of, including everything for babies. We will certainly be going back.
