We booked the Heatherville two days before we went down to Devon so weren't sure what to expect. After negotiating the bendy road up to the hotel we were greeted by Kay and sat on the terrace with her and Richard having tea and enjoying the sunshine. Our three nights there were wonderful - lovely room, great breakfasts, extremely friendly atmosphere and wonderful hosts. I especially loved watching Richard (in his dressing gown) chasing the sheep out of the garden first thing in the morning! We would definitely go back there.

As always, Richard & Kay welcomed us back to our favourite English destination. This was our 4th visit to The Heatherville since they took over and the quality of service, friendliness, cleanliness and food has never been less than excellent. We shall have to make at least two more visits so that we can experience each of the rooms. I think room 7 is our favourite - so far. Hope to see you again next year. Peter & Viv.

Room Tip: Room 7 has double aspect windows.

We knew we were in for a good stay when Richard and Kay greeted us with tea and homemade cakes as soon as we arrived. The twisty driveway up took us to the hotel in it's stunning location and our room had a wonderful view over the valley below. It was only a short walk into the town however. Breakfast was spot on a wide range of with beautifully cooked local food and our hosts did everything we could want to make our stay enjoyable - even offering to collect us from the town if required. Heatherville deserves five or even more stars and we would recommend the hotel every time.

After looking on Trip Advisor, as I always do before booking any Hotel or holiday, I came across reviews for the Heatherville Hotel in Lynmouth. The reviews were fantastic, so I thought i'd give it a go. This is a Hotel you would not find in passing as its set back from the main Hotel strip. Wow what a find it was. We arrived around 8.00pm after being stuck in traffic on the motorway and we did get slightly lost due to the location but when we arrived we were greeted by Richard & Kay who were waiting on the doorstep with beaming smiles. We were informed that normally we would take tea/coffee and homemade cake on the patio on our arrival but the weather was not very favourable and it was quite late, As we had not eaten Richard was kind enough to drop us down to the village (5 mins by car) so we could eat at one of the many pubs/restaurants. Please note that last food serving in the village seems to be around 8.30pm which I find very strange especially in early August.
Richard & Kay are great hosts, nothing seems to be too much trouble. On arrival we were upgraded to a room with a river/village view (room 5) which was an added bonus. The room was spotless and very comfortable, you even had dressing gowns available should you need them. Breakfast was an absolute treat, so much choice, to say you were spoilt is an understatement. Endless bowls of fresh fruit and berries, several cereals, local yoghurts of many flavours including home made ones and if that wasn't enough here comes the full English cooked to perfection. So to sum up, The Heatherville is an excellent Hotel that absolutely deserves its 5 star rating and the hosts also deserve 5 stars themselves but don't take my word for it go and see for yourselves, you wont be disappointed.

Excellent weekend break, lovely accommodation in a peaceful setting overlooking the village and river valley. Richard and Kay made us very welcome with tea and cake and took the time to provide all the information we needed, we felt at home straight away.
First class choice of breakfast menu, fruit, home made yoghurt, cereals and a wonderful fresh cooked breakfast selection. All very well presented.
A great place for walking, beautiful scenery, or just chilling out, and, a good nights sleep at the end of the day.

This was our second visit and it will not be our last. We where welcomed as part of Richards and Kays family. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Spotlessly clean. Decor immaculate all round.
Choice at breakfast is unbelivable

Room Tip: Richard and Kay will provide you with a room to suit your needs.

We found this B & B on the Internet and what a find it turned out to be. We received a really nice welcome from the hosts Richard and Kay with anice cup of tea and homemade banana cake. The accommodation was lovely throughout and comfortable, especially the bed. Wonderful location and lots to do in the area. Richard and Kay were really nice people and nothing was too much trouble. Very helpful about the area regarding places to go and things to do. Breakfast was exceptional with lots to choose from. Will certainly go back again.

Room Tip: Any room would be nice here
