“Superb scenic drive”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

Superb scenic drive around and about Lynton & Lynmouth and the surrounding area of Little Switzerland. We searched Google and printed a map off online although I think that you can get them from Lynton TIC.
Lynton & Barnstaple Railway at Woody Bay Station, Heddon Valley, Hunters Inn, a short walk down to Heddons Mouth. Then on to Woody Bay, Lee Bay Bay way of the Valley Of Rocks to Lynton, and then out to Watersmeet, Rockford and Brendon before returning down Countisbury Hill to Lynmouth.
Winding narrow lanes, cliif top driving, lots of fabulous views, lots of photos!!!

“Stunning views, not for faint hearted drivers”
Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

Went on a very sunny day, views are stunning. Hunters pub looks lovely, Valley of the rocks is amazing, Watersmeet tea rooms set in stunning location. Brendon is a lovely village.
On the negative side it is not sign posted, roads are very narrow and hills can have 25% incline.

“Superb!! Don't miss it!”

Try to make sure the sun is out for this trip as it makes it much more magical with the sunlight coming through the trees and highlighting the hillsides. it was out for the first part of our drive and it made all the difference. The scenery you will see is stunning and so unspoilt. Do stop at the Hunters Inn (beautiful building outside, not so great inside in my opinion) and walk along the river towards the Heddon Mouth and sea. We didn't make it all the way but it really is a beautiful place to spend a hour or so. The scenery around Lynton is just fantastic. The loveliest part of Devon we thought.

“Little Switzerland - A really lovely afternoon's drive...................”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

The '21 Mile Drive' is a great way to fully explore Lynton & Lynmouth and the Lyn Valley area - Little Switzerland.

Taking winding narrow lanes along cliff tops and wooded combes, we parked up here and there to take a short walk or two and take some lovely photos.

The drive goes via the wonderful Heddon Valley to Hunters Inn where we had a cream tea, then on along the coast to Woody Bay, Valley of Rocks and then up the East Lyn Valley passing Watersmeet and Brendon.

A really lovely afternoon's drive...................

“Lots of photos on a lovely afternoon's drive”

The 21 mile drive takes you along winding lanes, on edge of clifftops and through beautiful little hamlets. It takes a couple of hours stopping here and there to take photos and grab a coffee, a really nice drive!
