Having recently been refurbished and up dated with new owners we have introduced an indoor and out door play area with family dining next to play area and adult dining in the main hub of the pub. There is an sofa area near the open fireplace to relax and unwind . There is also a little sweet shop for those who have a sweet tooth. To the back of the pub there is a beer garden with a built in bbq which is ideal for those warm summer afternoons. We are open from 10am through to 9pm for food Monday to Saturday , bar from 10am to 11pm, Sunday from 10am through to 8pm for food, bar 10am to 10.30Pm

“Lovely Steak!”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

We used a Groupon as a birthday gift which proved to be a real bargain.
It is a typical local pub with the local men at the bar and the restaurant out the back of the pub. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night too with two friendly people behind the bar and waitressing

We sat in the bar area which would have been lovely if the fire was lit as it was a cold evening. We all had rib eye steak which was brilliant, a plate comes out with salad, onion rings and a tomato then the hot stone comes out with the steak cooking and with chips on the side. A really good size meal and yummy too!! We had to try the homemade desserts which was equally good!

Will definitely return!

“WOW!! NEW CHEF!! DEFINITELY WORTH A VISIT!”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

A party of 6 of us visited this pub just over a week ago for my mums birthday. I was slightly dubious of going here after reading the recent reviews but mum insisted on going as she said she loved the pub so I relented...
Well... I was so glad i did! We had one of the best meals we have ever had in a pub! Turned out after chatting with the landlord, that they had had a new chef start that week! Food was delicious. A few of us had their 'Steak on a Stone' and the rest had meals from the normal menu and specials board. Great variety from steak and ale pie and fish and chips to fresh seabass and pulled pork! Good choice of vegetarian meals too which is rare! We just about managed to fit in one of their scrummy homemade desserts too!
It was quite busy on the Saturday night that we went and I thought that the food prices were very reasonable. As the review below states, the service is not great but one step at a time... Lets hope this pub can regain its fantastic reputation that it used to!

“It's not that bad !”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

We went to The Twisted Oak using a Groupon deal for £23, turns out they do two steaks for £20 anyway on offer occasionally! It was a Tuesday evening and the pub was very quiet, less than half a dozen in the bar. We ordered our bottle of white wine (and had to remind the barman that we needed glasses ;). We sat and waited for our meals, which didn't take long to come out. The presentation of the food was good, the steaks were good, the chips were very good and there was a salad garnish and three little bowl of dips (bbq, horseradish etc.) on the platter. I can't fault the food. The self adhesive bib was amusing but when my partner took his off it was splattered from the steaks so they are a very good idea ! Not much in the way of atmosphere in the pub though, (we ate in the bar) the décor is quite dated and could do with a little livening up, but we would happily eat there again as the food was good, even though I did question eating there after having read the reviews on here. Give it a go.

“thunderstorm meal”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

had a quids in voucher at a cost of £12 which gave us 2 caravarys and 2 ice creams.normal cost is £12 for 2 carvarys anthing else is xtra; i do feel the cost of £8 45 for single meals is a bit tight?we went on sunday booked for 12 midday, got reasonable priced drinks waited 10 minutes for carvarys to come out;we both had turkey, the potatoes and veg was lovely and you can have as much as you want.in the middle of meal in conservatory a violent thunderstorm occured which was quite frightning!we then had 2 mint ice creams which was served well and nicely presented.i must mention the young lady behind the bar whose service was good and done with a smile.so my main recomendation is steak meals or carvarys go early to get fresh food.
