Description: The ASK Italian restaurant group boasts an excellent Exeter venue, situated in a stunning period building on the green next to Exeter Cathedral. The ASK Italian restaurant has recently gone through an extensive refurbishment. We've created a restaurant with a distinctive new look inspired by modern Italian design. And with the help of our expert friends, including awarding-winning chef Theo Randall, we've created a menu that features a range of simple, classic Italian food and an all Italian wine list.

“Run out of lots of food”
Reviewed August 7, 2009

Four of us ate here on Tuesday evening, service was slow, which is ok if you don't have to get to a theatre show. The waiter took the order telling us three things that were off the menu. After he took the order he came back and sdid the salmon that two of us ordered had finished, so that delayed us a bit, with having to re choose. I felt I rushed my choice and didn't pick well and didn't reqally enjoy what I'd chosen.
There were only two members of staff on, and they were stretched.

“Lovely food in a lovely setting”
Reviewed February 27, 2009

ASK is probably the Italian we visit most in Exeter, partly because the food is really nice for a good price, but what makes it stand out for me is the setting in Cathedral Green which is a lot quieter than the main High Street. The restaurant is bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside, and has a modern or more traditional feel to it depending on where in the restaurant you happen to be sat. Having not visited another ASK I can't compare it to the rest of the chain, but if you like Italian food in a nice setting this place ticks the boxes for me.

Beautiful old building with spectacular views of the cathedral...if you can get them! This is a busy place so book ahead. The food is good quality and good value; my only qualm would be the seating is too cramped.

“Where we eat most often in Exeter”
Reviewed June 30, 2008

We always have a good experience here - the building, outlook and service are fantastic, the food is predictably good and they are happy for well behaved children to eat there.
