“Overpriced. Cooked within an inch of its life. Bland food.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2014

Having viewed this place from rail and road. Thought we'd try it out. The muscles were bland and poor quality. The beef was dry and chewy.and although the waitress was very polite. Service was slow.and no one in charge really seemed to give a toss when taking my money. I will not be going back. The most disappointing meal out ever!

“Good, but very fishy menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2014

We had dinner here one evening on the recommendation of some fellow holiday makers, the food is lovely if you like fish, as most of us aren't fish lovers, 4 out of 5 of us had gammon, which was lovely, but not much choice apart from fish dishes. We were in early so the eating area was quiet and not much attmosphere.

“Good Restaurant on the Exe Estuary”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2014

We went for lunch with cousins and had an enjoyable meal in their restaurant. Some decent local beers, good service and well prepared, sensibly priced meals. I had a delicious skate wing and my wife had a fish pie. meals were too substantial for us to need a dessert afterwards.

I would happily visit again when in the vicinity.

“Not Special”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2014 via mobile

There were 6 in our party today three of us had the mussels, they had their own page on the menu and were advertised as River Exe mussels at £14.95. We were therefore expecting something special and what was served was poor, large shells with shriveled, gritty and not very tasty mussels. The sauces were OK but they didn't mask how poor these mussels were. Much better product available in vac pak bags at the supermarket.

“Great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2014 via mobile

I recently visited the pub with my family, it was nice to see a selection of children's meals. Food service was quick and quality of food was good. My only gripe is more to do with inconsiderate smokers who are puffing away outside of the venue, right next to where families with young children are dining. Recommended and will visit again.
