I recently visited the pub with my family, it was nice to see a selection of children's meals. Food service was quick and quality of food was good. My only gripe is more to do with inconsiderate smokers who are puffing away outside of the venue, right next to where families with young children are dining. Recommended and will visit again.

Lovely location by the water. Lovely staff. Have had good and not so good bar food but not yet tried the restaurant, which looks lovely and romantic.

Suggest you pre book a table if you are going down in the holiday period. The mussels are fantastic. Great for fish
Enjoy

Very sad insight that a pub in such a good location merely rests on this. As a local haven't been in for 6 months because the last meal was so dreadful. However met friends who booked a table there this weekend as the Ship was full so had to try it again. Food so much better and 3 out of 4 of us enjoyed the meal. The 4th person had gammon that was like leather so when the waitress was told she merely said sorry. We were charged for all 4 meals so didn't leave a tip but told the waitress why. The problem is they use young girls to serve who are clearly not trained and at several points during the evening we nearly said something as to their indifferent approach to service. We were the last people to leave the upstairs restaurant at 10:00 and the waitress rang our bill up before we asked for the bill as she clearly wanted to go home. Sadly this restaurant is owned by someone who doesn't know what good service is and perhaps some customer service training from a professional may empower staff to engage more with customer and this is so sad as we and our neighbours and friends could go there much more but instead go to where we are welcomed and the food is better - The Ship!
