We stayed overnight to support some firends doing the Commando Challenge. The accomodation was very clean, comfortable and well maintained. Anthea is very friendly and helpful, and the animals are lovely! Would definitely return.

Don't know what happened to my other review ...probably a bad 'click or two ' on the computer.
This was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it highly to anyone who visits the area.

Isolated from the hustle and bustle down a country lane. The owner is very warm and welcoming (and busy), rooms very clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast. We went to the Jack in the Green (pub/restaurant) a couple of miles away for dinner which is highly recommended. Good vale fr money and would definitely recommend it for the price it's excellent.

Approach to the Farm is along a quiet narrow country lane. A great B&B with a friendly welcome from Anthea, the owner. Our family used all three ensuite guest rooms on the first floor which are a good size with comfortable beds - kingsize, double and twin [hugh ensuite] during our six night stay. There is a stair/chairlift for the use of guests if needed, this was very useful for my elderly Mother.
Rooms were clean and airy with the personal touch, equipped with amongest other things, a hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities with biscuits!
The guest dining room/lounge is situated on the ground floor with setee, chairs and TV. Breakfast included fruit juices, cereal followed by choice of cooked, toast with a variety of preserves, tea or coffee.
Seeing the horses and stables nearby was an added bonus especially for our 23 month old Grandson.
Thoroughly recommended.

We were warmly welcomed by Anthea (Great Cook) and everything was lovely and very relaxing. The room was very comfortable and clean. We were given a key so we could come and go as we please. Would love to go back and would recommend it to anyone who needs to get away from it all. Cathryn and Barry. Midlands

We arrived late on Friday evening, after the sat-nav unexpectedly took us on the 'scenic route', but was still warmly welcomed by Mrs Parkyn, her friendly dog and the smell of freshly-baked bread! The house and surrounding countryside is gorgeous, and our room overlooked the stables. Our room, a double with ensuite, was very comfortable, with lots of cupboard space and a modern bathroom - that shower was so soothing, we could've stayed in it for hours! There was coffee, tea, hot chocolate, still water and biscuits in the bedroom, so we could start the day with the kettle. The breakfast was delicious, and by having all guests eat at the same table it helped us to meet other guests and share great stories and tips for places to visit. Mrs Parkyn was also quite knowledgeable about the area and events, supported by a well-stocked Welcome Pack in the room containing brochures about Devon. There was no need to visit a Tourist Info office. We particularly enjoyed returning from a long day out on Saturday to discover the wonderful scent of freshly-cut flowers on the window-sill prior to our celebratory dinner on Saturday night at the nearby Jack in the Green Inn (about 5 mins drive). Lots of parking on the property, with easy access to major roads (beware of sat-nav use). The two pet cats provide ample comic relief. The mobile service was very good, allowing me to upload photos to the Internet and check e-mail. We'd recommend this to anyone looking for a great B&B base to explore Devon that doesn't burn a hole in the pocket.

Very warm welcome. I was able to come and go as required, having been given a room and front door key. Lovely Victorian farmhouse accommodation, with nice views across the farm buildings (being restored) and farmland beyond, although all facilities are modern and work well. Quiet location, off the beaten track, but with easy access to the old and new A30 roads. Lots of books and maps are available in the dining room, enabling evening-time planning of the next days' activities, while watching TV, if required. Excellent full-English breakfast using local produce. Very nice coffee and tea making facilities in bedroom. Excellent en-suite shower room, with basin and loo.
Close to S Devon coast and beeches.
Excellent local history centre in Whimple village (see website), with two pubs, one serving beer from local brewery at Clyst St Lawrence. Active railway station on Waterloo Line.; close to Exeter Airport.
I thoroughly enjoyable time!
