This quaint 16th century Inn stands proudly and distinctively on the River Clyst just east of Topsham. If it's a fine selection of very well kept real ales in unique surroundings you're after, then you need go no further. The Inn promotes a beer menu that changes regularly and offers a fine range of carefully selected real ales, all served at optimum temperature directly from the cellar.
Inside the Inn there are three bars that have remained largely unchanged since the building was built - two small bars and a larger bar in the 'maltings' that is opened as required. There are plenty of tables outside on the banks of the river affording a great view over the Devon countryside.
A fine selection of good bar snacks are also available.
What you won't get here is draft lagers ( or draft anything ! ) or conventional opening hours - in keeping with tradition, the Inn retains its old style opening hours and this should be borne in mind if you are thinking of visiting.
