Living close to Exeter for the past 8 years, I have only just found the time to visit this beautiful museum. What a wonderful way to spend a good few hours looking at the exhibits which are beautifully presented, and an added bonus is that it is free entry. A worthy winner of museum of the year!

I came in after the new refurb, while I love what they have done, this is not an interactive museum. There is alot of reading. So interesting and visually stunning, but just to be warned

Not much to say other than, yes its a typical museum but actually a very nicely presented one and worth an hours visit for all age groups as easily accessible, well maintained, nice staff and some quite interesting things to see

Used to live very close by walking past every day to get to work 40 years ago and visited from time to time. As is always the case when it is right on your doorstep you think "next time I am in town I will pop in" but you don't. We were lucky to get Golden tickets when the museum re-opened and since then have been back twice, it is lovely and spacious we go there for 10am and it was quite quiet, by the time we left a couple of hours later it was getting busy but was Easter hols so lots of parent(s) and children. It is our intention to make to effort to visit a couple of times a year.

There is something there for everyone, be it history, archaeology, art. There is even a section where you are invited to open the drawers and explanations as to how conservation work is done.

We have visited with people of all ages, great place to visit in Exeter. Love the small and friendly helpful attitude. Great colour scheme.
