The Bendene Townhouse

This property is your average city centre guest house,I had room 6 a twin room overlooking a car park with a shower room fit for a mouse.Toilet roll holder wedged against my leg,you can picture the scene.Something that did annoy me is the lack of shower gel, 1 sachet for the evening and 1 for the morning which is fine if you want to wash your face only!Your full English breakfast to fill your tum,no way,Sausage is a chipolata, mine was cold, mushrooms no way I got 3 micro sized slices,1 rasher of bacon (small) need I say more.Close to the city centre.

Very nice staff, clean comfortable room, good local breakfast and a swimming pool! Parking is a pain but several spaces around the back if you're in early!

The Bendene was a very clean, comfortable, and welcoming B & B, staff were friendly the room was warm and plenty big enough, we were on the top floor but the stairs are wide and easy. We will use again if back in Exeter.

I was pleasantly suprised by my single room at the hotel. Although it was up in the attic it was not small and pokey. There was amble room and a very nice ensuite bathroom. I have stayed in double rooms with less wardrobe space than here. The breakfast was very good too. The staff were very helpful. They made arrangements for me to collect my key when I arrived late in the evening.

we only stopped the one night at the Bendene, on route to Cornwall, and found it a lovely and welcoming establishment.

Room was clean and nicely decorated, bathroom was very modern. We were impressed by the addition of the fresh ground coffee and сafetière added to the usual tea and coffee facilities within the room. Breakfast was OK, nothing special but adequate - served from 8am - 9am.

Parking was a bit of a problem, the limited spaces they had at the rear of the B&B had already been taken up but staff recommended 2 pay and display car parks (one across the road but only available until 6pm, then it was only open to permit holders only) additional pay and display approx. 150 yards up the road was free from 6pm until 8am. Traffic wardens do patrol so be careful. B&B located approx. 5 mins walk from Exeter town centre, plenty of restaurants close by and some good traditional and modern pubs. The Ship Inn had a great karaoke on when we were there (Friday night), located down a walkway to the cathedral.
