“Excellent food - Not so good price!”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Went for the mussels with chips and mum had cod & chips.

Both meals were delicious! Perfectly seasoned and the mussels were grit free and had the most delcious pesto/wine/heb broth - the best i've ever tasted. The chips were skin on - lovely and the homemade tartar dip was perfect!

The only down side is the price, £7.15 for a piece of fish (without chips) is hefty on any budget! I can appreciate the extra seasoning and time that goes into cooking the dish, however, it is just fish and chips and served in a cardboard box!

I'd be happy to pay £7ish with chips but to have to pay anothe £2 on top is a little greedy and I can see how it would put alot of customers off.

Other than the price it was a fab, no frills experience and i would definately return but maybe as a 'treat' rather than a regular occassion, and this is purely down to the price.

“tandem delight”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Camping nearby, we noticed on a tourist publicity map that Dart's farm hired out tandems, not just ordinary bikes. Having an older child with dyspraxia who has never mastered cycling alone, I felt this was a great opportunity not to be missed, particularly with the (relatively flat) cyclist route along the Exe estuary being seconds away from Dart's farm. I can't praise the staff at Dart's farm highly enough. I explained our situation and they spent time with us the day before the hire adjusting the bike so that it was perfect for us, and then letting us have a 15 min trial in the grounds to make sure that this would work for us before we spent money for the full hire. We left that day confident and looking forward to our extended time the next day. I wasn't sure we would make more than an hour, but in the event we used our full four hours and loved every minute of it. It is a wonderful route, no traffic and some lovely stopping places that you can pause to refresh and soak in the glorious views. One of the best activities we have done on holiday, and in large part it was the courtesy and support of the Dart's farm staff that enabled us to take the plunge. Highly recommended.

“I really Love this place”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Be warned, the produce is not cheap here, but the quality is just superb. They have a wonderful veg section, a fabulous in house butchers and a pretty decent wine section as well! Some of the cheeses sold here you can't get any where else as they are local, such as blue devonshire. I visited twice whilst staying nearby and spent a small fortune both times!

“Fish and Chips at their best.”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

This is the first time eating fish
and chips at Dart Farm and what a surprise, we are good food lovers and fish and chips mostly are disappointing either the fish is not fresh and the batter is heavy and thick, non of this here, thoroughly enjoyable white tasty fish batter spot on light and crispy, wherever you eat chips they are always poor, all frozen products, the chips here appeared freshly made, if there not, a very good job is beinging done. Not wishing to be negative , but sitting outside all you can hear is the banging of the disposable waste bin lid as people through away the finished containers easily rectified I would think, we will see next time we visit, which we will, Better than Padstow take away !! eat your heart out R.
