There was more give laying in the car park than there was on the bed! Seriously though, there should be a more standard mattress rather than what is supposed to be an Orthopaedic mattress, why do Premier insist that these beds give you a good nights sleep? The afternoon staff were helpful and personable, the chap on in the morning couldn't have really cared less.

Room Tip: Take a mattress topper

We slept well in comfy bed in a well sound-proofed and spotlessly clean room. Arriving here for the first time on a dark and rainy night, we went to the wrong part of the hotel site but when we got to the right place, we found that we could park the car within a few feet of the room. (A plan of the corridors would have been helpful). Though the staff work under a lot of pressure mid-evening they remain pleasant and helpful. Well done, Premier Inns.

Room Tip: Get a plan of the sprawed-out hotel on arrival

The hotel is on a major road and roundabout and that can make it noisy, so ask for a quiet room overlooking the park.

The restaurant is in the beefeater next door and the staff are all very helpful and the food is actually quite good.

The room I stayed in was very clean although it's strange to see old TVs. All the staff in this premier Inn are really friendly and this makes a nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Room 23 is a nice quiet location facing the park, so long as your out in the daytime

Last minute travel and this was one of very few places with a vavancy. It is a little out of exeter but you can park your car. Rooms clean and fine. Reception chap very pleasant and welcoming, and no problems. More of a motel , with access to your room through a corridor door outside, not via reception. Not the most modern or nicest premier hotel we have stayed at, however if you get a good rate then it is perfectly adequate.

Stayed for one night on 29th Sept, when settling our daughter into her uni accommodation. Hotel is approx 15 min drive from Exeter, room standard Premier Inn. Chap on check in desk very pleasant. Had to ask for second set of towels, as only one set in room, and there were two of us! Water pressure in the shower left a lot to be desired. Ate dinner in Beefeater restaurant, which was very lovely. However, unlike other Premier Inns we have stayed in, and we have stayed in a few, the full English breakfast was not buffet, the cereal, toast, fruit, tea and coffee were, but the cooked breakfast order was taken by the waitress, and brought to the table, although we could order as much as we wanted. Two other parties of guests orders were taken, and they arrived in the restaurant after us, eventually, I had to tell the waitress we were ready to order. Think she had forgotten us. The breakfast, when it arrived, was disappointing. My poached eggs were hard, and the bacon undercooked. We have stayed at the other Premier Inn in Exeter, St. Davids, by the station, which was much better, but it was full when I tried to book it. Would choose to stay at St Davids out of the two in future.

Depending on your needs, the location could be ideal or slightly inconvenient. We wanted a stop-over en route to Cornwall so, just off M5, it was very well placed for us. If you want to use it for Exeter it's not so good - a 15 minute bus ride into the centre.

The building is slightly disappointing compared to other Premier Inns. Rooms on ground floor arranged around the car park in a quad style. First impressions: basic, decidedly tired. However the check-in was efficient and friendly and the room was the usual sound standard of Premier Inn. Once in your room, you could have been in any hotel in the chain.

The staff were very helpful and the Rumanian desk clerk was a delight. When we enquired about getting into Exter, as she was going off duty, she showed us the way by bus. Exceptional.
