“The oldest public building in service in the UK”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

We couldn't visit the Guildhall, as they were preparing for a wedding that day, but a member of staff who was just entering the building was delightfully friendly and helpful, explaining us what it is still used for (county meetings, functions, venues and weddings).

“A must visit in central Exeter”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2012

This very old and interesting historic building is so central and easy to pop in to see that it is a must see on the High Street in central Exeter. It is closed for lunch, though.

“Exeter Guildhall”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 7, 2012

Said to be the oldest guildhall in the country. Very interesting history well worth a visit, watch for opening times! Not really a place for children unless you can make history come to life. For adults interested in history it's brilliant

“Wow! A real sense of history!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

The Guildhall has an amazing atmosphere! You could tell that it had been, and still is, used by countless people , it had such an ethos! Fantastic architecture, great portraits and a great guide to explain uses past and present to really bring it all to life.
