“Exeter Cathedral”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

A beautiful cathedral with a lovely green at the front, which gets busy on sunny days. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I sensed a little rivalry between them and Salisbury Cathedral!!
I liked the idea that if you wanted to leave and come back you could as they gave us a sticker to say we'd already paid.
The shops, bars and restaurants around the cathedral are expensive, but if you go one street away in any direction there are lots of cheaper fast food options.
It's a nice place to walk around at night when it's lit up, with some pretty side streets.

“A beautiful cathedral”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

I love Exeter Cathedral, it is so iconic, and for us Exeter folk, it's really representative of our city. The interior is very impressive, lovely to walk round, though it's a little too pricey, to be honest. (visitors- look out for the plaque celebrating the life of the wonderfully named 'Rev. Nutcombe Nutcombe', what a name!)

Our kids liked it too, but they are quite into things like this, if your kids are more into lively, active things, this might not be the place for them (unsurprisingly!)

For a small charge (£4 as a 'Senior'), you can wander about this magnificent building and take unlimited photographs (especially important to me). My visit this time was on Maundy Thursday so special arrangements were in place for services etc but this in no way detracted from the awesome architecture and stunning stained glass. The exterior boasted some scaffolding on this visit as the main window on the West Front is being renovated but again this only marginally detracted from the experience. With family in Exeter, the Cathedral will be visited again and again in future.
