Loved this place! Parking is a draw back, There isn't any! Ou have to pay and park in the train station opposite. Much more
friendly than derk at countess weir! The hot breakfast buffet was well stocked and of great quality. Orange juice was very watered down, disappointing! Toilets were lovely and clean. Only complaint was the
10 minute wait whilst the receptionist faffed about with the customer in front of us.

Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. And good breakfast. Would stay again. Parking is over the road in the Station Car Park for £9 which was fine, though we did worry about the security. Would recommend this the hotel for a stay in Exeter.

We stayed in Exeter in the middle of August whilst visiting relatives in Sidmouth. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, we always feel that Premier Inn are a bit better than a Travel Lodge. The area is fine, the Premier Inn has its own bar and restaurant but we didn't use it as there is a Weatherspoons directly behind the hotel which is very nice. With regard to the parking, we were out most of the day and returned after 6pm at which time we could park opposite the Hotel for free until 9am the next day (11am on Sundays) There is a car park also opposite the hotel which was quite expensive, there was also a couple of mini supermarkets near by. With regard to Exeter, it was nice near the Cathedral (although it was covered in scaffolding when we went) but the rest of the city is just like any other, not really very impressive. The roads around Exeter were horrendous ( it took us nearly an hour to travel from Sidmouth which is approx 15 miles away to the Hotel so don't think we will be visiting Exeter again but do recommend the Hotel

Stayed as a family at the beginning of August. Booked a family room based upon the huge room we had last visit only to be met with a standard room with an added camp bed. I realise the hotel may have been full, but if you book a family room that is what you should get. Evening meal in the Thyme restaurant resulted in very slow service and an hours wait for our meal, not what you want or expect after a protracted eight hour drive. Bar understaffed and staff need more training, i.e how to uncork a bottle of sparkling wine. Breakfast generally pretty good although some items had been left under the heat lamps to long and were inedible. The Weatherspoons at athe back of the Premier Inn do better breakfasts and meals. Overall, not a bad stay, but not as good as last time.

Room Tip: Eat at Wetherspoons Imperial just around the corner!

This is my kind of place, sleek, new, with everything working. It is located right opposite the train station (Exeter St. David's) and within a pleasant 10-minute walk to central Exeter. The room was spacious, clean and quiet. There was a tub as well as a shower in the bathroom. I only wish there was a mini bar i the room. This is not because I want to drink overpriced liquor, but because I like to use the fridge for my own beery purchases. On the whole members of the staff were a delight to deal with. The only exception to this was when we checked in. The receptionist had a really casual, offhand (one could even say indifferent) manner about her which was a bit off-putting. We never ate in the restaurant, so I can't comment on it. We ate breakfast at the imperial pub which is just five minute walk up St. David's Hill. I heartily recommend it.

I was not very impressed by my stay in this hotel. The half hour free wifi did not work well at all. I was staying in the hotel with my mum so we were issued two key cards. We were not planning to split up so only took one card out with us and left the other in the power supply. When we came back later our spare key card had been taken by the maid. We also did not have enough towels. The first day we only had one hand towel, a bath mat and two bath towels. The second day we got two bath towels and no hand towel or bath mat. The third day we got the same as the first day, and on our fourth day the maids came and made the bed but gave us no clean towels. Very annoying. Also the beds were very uncomfortable and we struggled a lot to open the windows. On the other hand the shower was very nice and easy to adjust the temperature, there was plenty of hot water and the room was nice and dark at night.

A clean new hotel that is very convenient for rail travellers. Staff are welcoming and the food and drinks are good. There's no real ale here, but there is a selction of bottled beers. Rooms are comfortable and clean, meeting Premier Inn standards.
