“Enjoyable overnight stay”
Reviewed June 29, 2013

We picked this as it was a convenient location on our way back from Scilly to Lincolnshire.
Had trouble finding it but were pleased we did. We had room 11 with a big bay window overlooking the grounds and a massive oak bed, plus a 40inch TV! Very nice en suite too.
You cannot go wrong with the breakfast as it is self service with plenty on offer.
It was a quick in and out stay but more than happy with everything about it

The location makes it slightly difficult to find but it is well worth the search.
Good food , pleasant staff and loyely grounds.
Pet friendly with lots of nice walks nearby.
No problem staying there again.

We only stopped for lunch but I highly recommend this sunny spot away from the crowds. Lovely menu. Really quality food. Massive garden, would be great for the family, loads of room to play. Staff very helpful & friendly. I look forward to going again soon.

I was not sure what to expect of this hotel on the approach through an industrial area but was pleasantly surprised when I found it. Set in beautiful gardens which are overlooked from the restaurant you would think it was much further out in the country. All staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were omfortable and spotless. Food in restaurant was very good and although service was a little slow not enough so to mark down the rating. I would definitely stay again

This hotel is conveniently situated in a pleasing semi-rural location just off the M5. Parts of the hotel are a little tired but the room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Considering we paid £79 for the room (including a good brekkers) it represents good value and we would definitely return when visiting Exeter next.

The only negative was that the central heating was going full blast in our room in the bungalow (23) and could not be turned off due to a faulty radiator thermostatic valve. Unpleasant till the maintenance person came over and pulled the plug on the heating.

Room Tip: Check out the radiator valve in room 23 to make sure it has been fixed.

I was a little bit worried by some of the reviews I had about this hotel from here and also from friends and family.

We had a three course wedding breakfast and evening reception for 85 people, they also had a wedding anniversary evening do and hotel guests to accomodate.

You would of thought we had the hotel to ourselves as you never heard anything from the other party even thought they had a five piece band! The service was second to none, very attentitive.

We have had nothing but compliments about the food, drink, and service our guests received both during the wedding reception and from those that stayed the night.

Breakfast was also second to none and they even put tables together so that us and our guests that stayed could all sit together and relive the night before.

10/10. If you want basic service go to travelodge if you want personal, friendly service stay here x
