Comfortable night right in centre of Exeter with car parking - but cost £10 extra (though I suppose well worth it in the situation). Also enjoyed a dinner in dining room after long journey. Sadly did not have time to use spa! Will probably be going back again this year and will use this hotel again.

Stayed at the Mecure southgate just for one night whilst traveling home form Devon.
Firstly I must say that the hotel is lovely very modern/clean & I loved the fact we had a Nespresso Machine in our room. But it was let down by a few things.Firstly we were charged £10 for parking in the hotels own car park, found this a bit of a rip off when your paying £130 for a room surely parking should be included.
The bar area was nice but did have an odd smell to it,i think this may be due to the fact that the bar man was cleaning the lines out at the time but our coffee that we ordered was lovely & even had latte art on which i appreciated.
Rooms were fab but very cold however it was frezzing temperatures outside & we did have a temperature control inside the room & the shower wasn't particularly hot either.
Location is excellent & all the staff were pleasant.

Good location and car park is handy although I was also not told about the £10 car park charge. Hotel is nicely decorated but I would agree that attention to detail is lacking eg only one set of towels for two person booking, taxi ordered but arrived 15 minutes late, small double even though I had asked reception for twin or large double - had to move. There is something lacking here and there doesn't seem to be a manager around ensuring everyone is happy including staff. Breakfast very good.

In my opinion the best Hotel in Exeter, the servcie the quality the rooms and the experience - it is the best product by far. I have used the hotel three times in th elast week and each time I use it the hotel is the same the product is identical evberytime which is great.

Excellent breakfast, only citisim is the staff in the breakfast room are dull and look bored.

Also object to paying £10 per car parked in the Car Park and think it should be £5 if you stay the night.

The hotel was easy to locate, ample parking. The staff were very helpful and polite (even lending my girlfriend and umbrella to go out in the rain). Room was clean, fresh and well maintained. Facilities were lovely, nice pool and sauna. I would recommend this hotel to others. A must if your staying in Exeter.

You wouldn't be disappointed if you want a classy, friendly, clean hotel with good facilities and excellent location-just a short walk away from the city centre. Rooms could be bigger but very clean and cosy. Staff are lovely, breakfast excellent with the option to order items not kept on the buffet -although quite a wait for our kippers. I usually prefer a small, personal hotel, but as far as chain hotels go, this is worth a stay. Oh, but be prepared to pay £8.50 for a 175 ml glass of red wine if you like a tipple, no option for a cheaper house wine.

This is an excellent hotel close to Exeter centre.

Rooms are modern whilst retaining the character of the hotel. Bathrooms are stylish & practical, being newly fitted with a walk in shower. Room is well decorated with comfortable bed and good flat screen TV showing all Freeview channels.
Car parking was reasonable price, plentiful & secure. Wifi was free, though I did not need it as the 3G signal was very strong (from O2).

I did not use restaurant or leisure as with friends & had other plans.

Overall, an excellent choice. Everything you want and more from a hotel either on business or for leisure. It will be my first choice when returning to Exeter.
