I note some people moan about price but if you book in advance and hunt down offers the price is reasonable for what you get. Free WiFi although we were given the coupon for one day when staying for two, so asked for another that I got. Given that the partner was offered one for their device at checking which isn't how their semi free WiFi scheme works, can't complain, a young man freely handing out WiFi coupons on arrival albeit for a day less than staying but fixed is customer care and a nice touch.

Breakfast is the normal Holiday Inn affair in the UK with guests attempting to toast croissants and smoke pouring everywhere. They must have special smoke detectors at Holiday Inns that cope with this. Obviously a small proportion of guests can't read the warning sign and do it for fun. Then you have the toast machine knob twiddlers that ruin the setting. The scrambled egg stirrers that layer the machine produced packet stuff, that isn't cooking on display just waiting to be spooned out but not to be played with by pseudo chef guests.

Would gladly stay again.

As a young couple with a very young child, we wanted to stay here to break up our trip to the coast. We had told them we had a baby, and for no extra cost they arrange to have a larger-than-usual room and a cotbed was set up and made (with fresh bedding etc) for when we arrived.

The staff were all very lovely and the rooms very clean.

Unfortunately our son decided to be a rockstar that night, so hope for the sake of other customers their night - which should have been very comfortable - wasn't ruined.

My only drawback was a personal one - the lights in the lift were far too bright. To many this makes no difference but alas it woke up said baby and perhaps was the catalyst for starting his heckling....

That said - I would definitely come here again, and would certainly recommend it to others

Thank you for sharing your recent experiences on Tripadvisor

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Our location is very popular and a great stop off point before continuing the journey down to Cornwall. It is great to see you found this useful for you too.

It is really good to hear we were able to provide you with a slightly larger room; these rooms are great as they have the additional space for accommodating a cot. We always make up the cots and sofa beds if required so that you are able to settle in whatever time you arrive.

Unfortunately the lights in the lift are bright, usually this would not be a problem, however I completely appreciate the difficulty when trying to keep a little baby asleep. Maybe the next time you book with us we could allocate you a ground floor room. There is always a member of the team here to assist you with making your stay great, just let us know what we can do to assist you.
Thank you again for your kind review. I hope to welcome you back again soon.

Kind Regards

Spent one night here on a recent airport stop-over. Room was clean and comfortable once the air-con controller had been mastered. Bed was rather too hard for me.Breakfast buffet was fine. Reception staff were generally helpful.

Likes
+ Close to airport
+ Nice buffet breakfast
+ Clean room
+ Friendly staff

Dislikes
- No restaurant (but pub nearby and they have delivery Indian/Chinese menus at Reception)
- A little pricey at £80 pn
- Hard bed
- They use a local taxi company which charges silly money for the very short ride to the airport

Thank you for taking the time to share your hotel experience online. We look forward to receiving our guest’s feedback as it enables us to continue to improve our product and service.

As a Holiday Inn Express, unfortunately we are unable to have a full restaurant in the Hotel as we are fortunate to have a pub next door to us. We do offer a large range of take away menus which we hold at reception as we understand some of our guests may not wish to leave the Hotel.

Our room rates are set according to local demand; however we do have the added benefits of free breakfast, free car parking and free WIFI in our Hotel.

I apologise you felt the company our Hotel use for taxi’s were overpriced for your journey, our Guest Services Team would always be happy to provide alternative taxi company details should an alternative be requested.

It pleases me to read that your bedroom was clean and comfortable and you enjoyed our free breakfast buffet. I will be sure to share your comments regarding the team as they pride themselves in their guest services.

We do hope to welcome you again to our Hotel here in Exeter.
Kind Regards

Stayed here for three nights while exploring Devon. Hotel was easy to find with the Exeter park and ride just across the road (£2.35 return)
Room was clean, comfortable and quiet...Although the eating area was busy at breakfast the staff done a fantastic job of clearing and cleaning tables so there was no problem finding a table, breakfast choice was also good (hot and cold choices) with limitless cups of coffee or tea..
Staff were helpful and friendly, will defiantly be back...
Thanks for an enjoyable stay..

One night business stop over. Room was clean but basic. Soap from wall dispenser. Designed to withstand wear & tear rather than luxury. No wardrobe - clothes hang from a rail on show in the room. Shower had a curtain rather than a door. Free WiFi.

Staff were friendly. Breakfast very basic.

For one night it was perfectly adequate and had I paid £65, fair enough but costing over £100, it was poor value.

Room Tip: I wouldn't have thought there was anything to choose between them

You can trust Holiday Inn Express for value, an excellent night's sleep in a really comfortable bed, cleanliness and helpful friendly staff. Exeter was no exception. The breakfast layout was a bit odd but the food on offer was to standard. I have never felt the rooms to be basic but really well designed to be functional and enjoyable to be in.
