From the bread and olives to start with the food just kept getting better and better - especially the sardines with lime and parsley dressing. Yummy. The services was perfect - attentive without being intrusive - and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. To anyone visiting Exeter I'd recommend you make time to have a meal at this restaurant.

Thanks very much for your review.

Its really encouraging for all the team here at El Bocado to receive such positive feedback. We do regularly amend our menus - but the sardines with lime are such favourites that we never take them off the menu!

We hope to welcome you again soon to El Bocado.

Very average food, not very reasonably priced, overly attentive staff who we're actually pretty annoying.

Thank you for your review.

I am sorry to read that you found our staff "overly attentive". We pride ourselves on our service, and this certainly isn't a comment we have received before. We aim to provide good service for our guests at all times.

We also aim to be as authentic as possible. We want to remain as Spanish as we can. We make everything on the premises apart from ice cream and bread, providing good value for money for fresh food.

Thanks again for your review.

Had a very nice meal here, pan fried sea bream with coriander chickpeas. Only thing missing was some vegetables! And there were too many chickpeas! Others enjoyed lamb and tapas and also desserts. Friendly staff, good service, very clean toilets and and a Spanish guitar player, excellent. Would go again and recommend.

Thank you for your review.

We have taken your comments on board, and discussed with our chefs. We are going to serve our seabream with less chickpeas and a tapas dish of tray baked vegetables.

Thank you for your feedback - it really does ensure that we understand our guests likes and dislikes.

Perhaps you'll visit us again and give the dish another try??

Once again thank you.

Came here for a family meal out, one of my daughters is quite a fussy eater so I was really pleased to see such a great variety on the menu. Delicious tapas, great wine selection and good value for money. We'll definitely be coming again - especially for flamenco evening.

Thank you for your time taken in leaving a review.

We have over 40 tapas, all freshly prepared and cooked in our kitchen, and we hope that our guests can all find something that they will enjoy on our menu. Over a quarter of our tapas are suitable for vegetarians, with 25 (on our current menu) that are also gluten free.

Thank you once again for your review and we hope that we will see you again soon.
