“Ongoing quality!”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

Three of us visited The Green Door again this evening for a celebratory meal. As on previous occasions we were not disappointed. The choice of menu is excellent. ( I dislike it when there is such a choice that you know it is all pre-cooked and heated up). There are wonderful starters, mains and desserts. Most of this food is cooked to order and is so fresh and flavoursome. Two of our party enjoyed the marinated venison in red wine with juniper berries - wonderful! Another member had the confit of duck - a favourite. Each dish was well presented with freshly cooked vegetables.
We enjoyed a variety of desserts, all of which were flavoursome and interesting.
The Green Door is a small intimate restaurant with a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. It was a chilly evening, the first this autumn and we were welcomed with a lovely log fire.

We will be going back again. Do pay it a visit, you will not be disappointed.

“One of my favourite visits of the year”
Reviewed September 15, 2012

This is a very small and cosy restaurant, which essentially seems to be a converted front room with about 5-6 tables. Because of this the service is very quick, efficient and attentive. The food is truly great, the chef is very talented and cooks with real flair. These hidden gems are exactly the kind of places that we need, and I would eat here all the time if I lived a bit closer! Well worth a visit, you won't regret it.

“Good food though not much atmosphere”
Reviewed August 16, 2012

This is a small restaurant in the middle of a village. The bar area is quite tight so would be nice to have somewhere to have a pre dinner drink without having to go to your table if it is busy.
The food is good and the menu has quite a good variety.
My only gripe is that you can smell the food whilst its being cooked as the kitchen extractor fan is not too powerful and that could be a bit overpowering before you eat your own meal.
