Description: We are a daytime restaurant with lovely views of Exeter Cathedral and the green. We have outdoor seating and seating on two floors inside. Open for breakfast, lunch, Sunday Roasts, and afternoon teas, we source from local, small suppliers as it's good for the environment and the food tastes better. Our coffee is excellent, our choice of teas extensive (no teabags here), and wines, beers, ciders, and lagers produced by small, local family businesses. Open 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 5pm on Sundays. This is an independent, owner operated restaurant. We give 1% of our profits to Medecins sans Frontieres. Cream Teas are served from 230pm (We recognise that not serving cream teas at lunchtime is not a popular policy and admit we do this partly for economic reasons. Better to be up front and honest about it!). We are generally a daytime only restaurant, but we open in the evenings during graduation week, on Fridays in the summer, and for private functions (please phone us if you are interested)

Only ever been here for cream teas but they've always been delicious! Great portion sizes (we always leave full) and a really cosy atmosphere. It's a tiny bit on the pricey side, and the staff can be a little incompetent at times, but overall a really lovely place to go.

Tea on the Green is certainly special for afternoon tea - and it used to be pretty special for lunches, too. On my most recent visit, however, our waitress was hopelessly inept - to the extent that we were left waiting on numerous occasions, and had to keep asking for the same things - and while the food was certainly fresh and tasty (if a little uninspired), the prices don't seem to justify the end product. For me this oscillates between three and four stars, although my recent experience was certainly more 3* than 4*.

A friend and I visited Devon for a week and were determined to have a proper afternoon tea while here. We looked on trip advisor and decided on Tea on the Green and are so pleased we came here. The food is lovely and definitely great value for money. The waiter was very friendly and the service was excellent. We decided on having 2 different afternoon teas as we were not in a hurry and diets have been forgotten this week. I would recomend this to anyone visiting Exeter.

A perfect place to spend a lazy morning, ideally outside in the sun with views of historic buildings and the cathedral. Great value.
