Mr C and I stayed at the Poachers Inn, Ide for one evening meal, one night and breakfast. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our ensuite room with 4 poster. Nice, if a little jaded round the edges. Certainly warm on a January night. We had a bar snack before going out to a party and returned, ready to let our selves in. Need not have worried as a few hardy locals were still in the bar (and stayed there until after midnight!) but when peace reigned it was comfortable and we slept well. The owner was in charge of breakfast and was very attentive. The breakfast was well cooked and tasty with lashing of tea and coffee. It is what it is - a nice comfy village pub in the lovely part of Devon and I would stay there again if i didn't live about half an hour away!
