“Not perfect, but v good.”

We ate here over the Easter holiday, it was a busy night and front of house were polite enough if a little stressed. The food though was lovely, in fact one of the nicest Indian meals we've eaten out in a while, it was well presented, plenty of it and was very tasty. I think they could do with an additional member of staff, because as the night drew on even getting the bill became a bit of an issue. But overall a pleasant place to sit in, easy to find just a couple of minutes from the embankment with good food, at the right sort of price. .

“Lovely food and large portions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

We had a lovely meal here on a busy night. Service was fine - perfunctory but not overly friendly and as one other reviewer stated, we were not asked if we wanted our coats hung up etc which I would have expected. Food was very good though and portions were really good. Our 8 year old son loves curry and he said his meal was absolutely delicious :-) Prices slightly high but nothing out of the ordinary. Would definitely go again as we visit Dartmouth often and normally get take out but was nice to sit in the restaurant for a change :-)

“Won't be going again”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2013

Visiting this restaurant has always been a highlight of previous visits to Dartmouth with great service, atmosphere and food. Sadly not this time (Easter 2013). There was no welcome and our coats ended up on the backs of our chairs; very lacklustre service; no advice offered on our choices when asked for and the food was ok but nothing special. The fish which so impressed us impervious visits was rubbery with no flavour. So disappointed

“Standards Falling”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

Eaten numerous times over the last few years at Spice Bazaar. It is still better than the only other Indian restaurant in Dartmouth, but things seem on the slide.
Both service and food have disappointed recently. And locals have noticed. The once popular restaurant is often quiet particularly mid-week.
The restaurant is tucked away in a side street. It is tastefully decorated and presentation of food is good. The menu is not your typical curry house - fusion is the marketing term. Spice Bazaar has never been a cheap and cheerful Balti house. Prices are relatively high for an Indian style meal and food portions small. When service and food quality were high the cost of dining was just about palatable. Today it is not good value for money

“Great Indian Food”

We allways go the Spice Bazaar when we want a good curry. Weekend buffets are great value. Take away too. Very good food and a nice dining in ambiance.
