Met friends here for breakfast. Lively place and very dog friendly. Buzzy atmosphere with friendly staff and food prepared to order. Great orange juice. Highly recommend the bacon sandwich - large enough to be shared!

We always have a least one visit here each time we visit Dartmouth and we are never disappointed.

We have been coming to Alfs for more years than I can remember, staying in the flat upstairs and once in the double room. Everyone is always so helpful and we love the easy going attitude, when ringing to book. If they have space, they book you in even if you don't want a whole week.
The flat is up hundreds of stairs and over looks the harbour. It is truly glorious and we have never been disappointed.
The only downside for some people might be the sound of the restaurant at night when it is open for private parties, we don't mind it, especially if the music is live. it beats the very noisy seagulls anyway. breakfast is yummy, but waiting to order try the patience a little.
Alfs is a bit dusty and bonkers, but we love it and hope to return year after year.

this restaurant was recommended to me by a friend and as i was in dartmouth to catch a river cruise thought i'd give it a try, I wasn't dissappointed, the coffee was one of the nicest i'd drank in devon, the breakfast was just right, fresh and locally produced. Staff were friendly and helped us find a table quickly - you may have to share a table as the place is incredibly popular.
My son who's favourite meal is the Full English ate everything on his plate which is a testament in itself, the only thing i would say is that if your a bit tight on time (as we were), as the food is cooked to order (not kept warm on a hotplate) it takes a bit of time.

A consistently good breakfast. Does get a bit busy at times, but worth persevering. Good local sausages and bacon. Not the usual "bags of mystery" one gets in many breakfast cafes

Had breakfast here last week and it was fantastic - brilliant food with even better staff and there was even a young talented lad playing acoustic guitar in the cafe, what more could you ask for!!! Don't know how the did it but I had the best toast I've ever tasted with my smoked salmon and scrambled eggs it was crispy and wholesome at the same time. It feels very cool and well worth a visit.
