Once again we called in to eat a Sunday lunch at The Royal Castle. Wonderful views over the river Dart. Food was good but getting on the expensive side, about £25 a head for meal plus glass of wine. Although still good it has deteriorated since our last visit about 9 months ago. There seems to be a new restaurant manager and different waiters. One of the waiters we dealt with was excellent but unfortunately another one was totally useless and left dirty plates on our table for a quarter of an hour until we had to ask for them to be removed . The manager an amicable fellow spent most of his time fawning over attractive lady diners at the expense of the rest of us. I suspect the deterioration of service is down to his example. Still good but could do better.
