Owner description: For a truly out of this world experience, don't miss out on the fun at the Milky Way Adventure Park - recently voted Devon's Large Attraction of the Year. Just 10 minutes outside of Bideford in North Devon awaits a full day of adventure for the whole family come rain or shine. Take a ride on the Cosmic Typhoon roller coaster - enjoy the panoramic views from the top, but prepare to scream as you face the hair-raising drop! Have a close encounter with aliens in the Clone Zone dark ride and take on the huge death slide in the Time Warp - if you dare. The newest addition is an amazing display of Sci-Fi memorabilia - one man's vast private collection of characters, collectables and fan art from film and TV...from Daleks to Darth Vader! There's plenty for smaller adventurers too including the innovative Little Stars play centre designed for babies to pre-schoolers. It has a multi-level soft play area, sensory room for babies, a dressing up area, roll play pizzeria complete with kitchen, tables and food to stimulate imaginative play - and even a pretend car wash with ride-on cars. The park also boasts the UK's largest bouncing pillow, as well as a smaller pillow just for children under five and accompanying adults. One of the parks most popular attractions are the droid destroyer dodgems which guarantee a bumping good time for everyone, including little ones with special gentle rides for smaller visitors. Another favourite is the Time Warp - North Devon's biggest indoor play area, with assault courses and slides built for adults as well as children. To wind down, visitors can take a leisurely trip on the Milky Way railway, and then sit back and enjoy the shows which include Merlin from Britain's Got Talent with his fun packed skills and thrills show and breath-taking displays from the North Devon Birds of Prey Centre. The park also has a 1,000 seat indoor arena, so you can be sure that the show goes on whatever the weather! Alongside this, there's plenty to try your hand at including archery, golf and laser shooting for all the family. With over 110,000 sq feet of indoor fun & acres of outdoor activities, The Milky Way is the biggest all weather, family day out in North Devon. It's designed to be fun for parents as well as kids and there are no hidden extras as all of the rides, shows and play areas are included in the entrance fee. Your adventure awaits you - are you ready?

After reading some other reviews I thought this ace was going to be great.... It wasn't.
Lady on reception was really nice and welcoming. It was £12.50 each to get in so not cheap and not that much did my 4 year d to do as weather outside bad. Childrens show was funny but adult humour. Birds in cages :(
Cafe ok not great very basic.
Huge place dodgems best bit. Roller coaster old and little one no where near as good as crealy.

Dear Reviewer

We're sorry to hear you didn't rate you day here very highly. We just wanted to respond to your comment regarding "birds in cages". Our birds of prey are looked after by our full time falconer inside of one of Devon's largest bird of prey centres. Each bird resides inside purpose built mews with over 500 sq feet of space. Everyday without fail all birds are allowed to fly freely for as long as they desire and always return back to the centre. During the day when they are not flying or performing in the shows the birds are perched outside on the lawns. However on particularly wet days the birds prefer to be kept in the dry in their mews which was obviously the case on the day of your visit. It sounds like you may have missed our bird of prey shows whilst you were here, where all this would have been explained to you.

Again we are sorry you feel you wouldn't return here but we hope you may consider visiting us again when your child is a little older and can enjoy more of our attractions and when the weather is a bit nicer.

Grandchildren ranged from 9mths to 6yrs so there was something for all of them to do. Wouldn't go without children as there isn't much for adults.Definetly recommend taking your own food and drink as thought it was abit over priced. Staff were very freindly and helpful especially when my daughter lost her camera which was handed in. We will be going again in October.

We paid £42 for 2 adults and a toddler and I don't feel its worth that at all, its very outdated, needs some decorating and apart from the Hawking Centre, maze and archery/laser shooting area (and you have to pay extra for archery) its not very impressive at all for the price. There is a soft play with a sandpit and ride on tractors thats ok for a very short while and the main play area isnt suitable for small children at all, the area that was for them in that room was closed off. The alien ride was only ok, the roller coaster not the best and the train ride was dismal. Very disappointed for the price, wouldn't go back not helped by the fact that they told us our card had been refused for payment on entry the first time but was approved the second time yet they managed to take the money twice and I'm still waiting for it to be refunded!

Just got back from a rather wet day out which was not spoilt by the weather at - OK we didn't bother to try the outdoor rollacoasters but our three year old loved the indoor activities so much it didn't matter.
Great shows with just the right amount of time in between.
All the staff were friendly and didn't let the weather spoil your day - GO!

Took our 2yr old here on a recent trip to visit family and was brilliant, the train ride was a bit slow and short but plenty to she loved the Alien ride and the archery. Indoor play area fab, lots to do and lots of picnic areas for packed lunches.
