Owner description: For a truly out of this world experience, don't miss out on the fun at the Milky Way Adventure Park - recently voted Devon's Large Attraction of the Year. Just 10 minutes outside of Bideford in North Devon awaits a full day of adventure for the whole family come rain or shine. Take a ride on the Cosmic Typhoon roller coaster - enjoy the panoramic views from the top, but prepare to scream as you face the hair-raising drop! Have a close encounter with aliens in the Clone Zone dark ride and take on the huge death slide in the Time Warp - if you dare. The newest addition is an amazing display of Sci-Fi memorabilia - one man's vast private collection of characters, collectables and fan art from film and TV...from Daleks to Darth Vader! There's plenty for smaller adventurers too including the innovative Little Stars play centre designed for babies to pre-schoolers. It has a multi-level soft play area, sensory room for babies, a dressing up area, roll play pizzeria complete with kitchen, tables and food to stimulate imaginative play - and even a pretend car wash with ride-on cars. The park also boasts the UK's largest bouncing pillow, as well as a smaller pillow just for children under five and accompanying adults. One of the parks most popular attractions are the droid destroyer dodgems which guarantee a bumping good time for everyone, including little ones with special gentle rides for smaller visitors. Another favourite is the Time Warp - North Devon's biggest indoor play area, with assault courses and slides built for adults as well as children. To wind down, visitors can take a leisurely trip on the Milky Way railway, and then sit back and enjoy the shows which include Merlin from Britain's Got Talent with his fun packed skills and thrills show and breath-taking displays from the North Devon Birds of Prey Centre. The park also has a 1,000 seat indoor arena, so you can be sure that the show goes on whatever the weather! Alongside this, there's plenty to try your hand at including archery, golf and laser shooting for all the family. With over 110,000 sq feet of indoor fun & acres of outdoor activities, The Milky Way is the biggest all weather, family day out in North Devon. It's designed to be fun for parents as well as kids and there are no hidden extras as all of the rides, shows and play areas are included in the entrance fee. Your adventure awaits you - are you ready?

“So much better than we expected”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

We brought our son and two of his friends for a pre-birthday treat (8th birthday) on a Saturday having looked around for something suitable to keep three very active eight year olds entertained for an hour or two. We were fully aware that this was the end of the season and that not everything was operating so our expectations were not very high. We were braced for disappointment and, as adults, not expecting much for our benefit.

Can I just say how brilliant it was to be so wrong? The weather was appalling so we did not expect anything outside to be running but the park were still operating the train which went down well with all of us. All who went on it thoroughly enjoyed the “Clone Zone” and we all had a great time in the “Time Warp” area especially with the ball guns. We spent some time and money in the archery/golf/laser shooting area and it was thoroughly worth every penny as the two guys working there really made the experience, they were enthusiastic, generous with their knowledge and conveyed a sense of fun. And just to complete the day we all had multiple drives on the Dodgems and to make a small boys day perfect, just as we were leaving, the operators of the Dodgems were just doing the last run of the day and invited him and his friends to have the last drive. So kind at the end of a long day for them.

We arrived at just after 11.00 and left about 16:00, we all enjoyed every minute and the boys are still talking about how brilliant everything was. We adults are also talking about how much we enjoyed it and in particular how brilliant everyone of the staff were, always cheerful, smiling and helpful. We do not know how they do it after a whole season but we were so impressed and grateful as this just added to the whole day.

We will definitely be back especially living in Mid Devon not so far away.

“An unexpected fabulous adventure!”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

It was the last weekend of my uncles visit from Scotland, I had worked a long week, and wanted to go out with the whole family (mum, dad, uncle, my fiancée, our little angel and myself)... We had never visited the Milky Way before but it had been recommended to us by a colleague of my mums, so with the impending dodgy weather report we decided to give it a go....

It was amazing! What an awesome day out, the shows were entertaining, we went to them all! They had a chap there who did a kids show called "Captain Cosmos" and what a character he is?! When we went on the "Clone Zone" (mum even decided to join us which is a rarity I must say) it was the same chap taking us through and he was incredible! Made us all laugh until we cried.....

We went on the roller coasters, the train, the dodgems (lots and lots of times..Mum too!) We even went and took part in the archery (all of us) it was fantastic to be shown by professionals (one being a former British champion) plus it was only £3 for 12 arrows?!?! Rock on!!!

It is one of the BEST family days out, Pixie loved the giant soft play areas and dodgems.. Everything was superb! WE WILL RETURN!!!!

“Great for kid's parties”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

We had a group of 7 year old boys to entertain and they had an amazing time at The Milky Way. The dodgems and rollercoasters were a great hit and they spent 2 hours in the indoor play, just having fun. There is a relaxed atmosphere here and you don't feel you are being fleeced all day - once you pay to get in most activities are free. The staff are all friendly and genuinely helpful, not a surly person in sight. As it was cold and our gang was loud (and very bad at driving their dodfems the right way) I was very impressed. Nice birthday lunch, sausages and chips etc, very healthy (not!), but the kids loved it. You can bring your own cake which we did but everyone was so stuffed they couldn't eat it.

“Wasn't expecting much, but very pleasantly surprised”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

From the leaflet, it didn't seem to have much there. But we walked in and our son's did the archery (£3) and got a certificate - brilliant thing to try. Laser rifles and golf practice was free. The alien ride wasn't anywhere near as scary as the signs made out, so don't be frightened to go on it with young kids. The roller coaster was good and the smaller ones for little ones was ok too. The dodgems were good, but didn't really need the height restrictions for a small child ride. Great indoor play area, in fact - fantastic. Great place to go on a rainy day as most of it is inside. Even the birds of prey show can be brought inside. Very pleased with the day and you can use Tesco vouchers too.

“Excellent fun for infant and junior aged children.”
Reviewed November 3, 2012 via mobile

Two of my friends and I took our 7 daughters aged between 4 & 11, here during our half term holiday. The indoor dodgems and indoor play area kept them occupied for ages and the older ones loved Devons biggest rollercoaster! Plenty of room for them to run around outside with climbing frames, slide, swings and zip wire. Ours kids really enjoyed there day out, so happy Moms!
