Four of us stayed at the New Inn for 2 nights in May 2012. The hotel is very old, traditional & cosy. The rooms are dated but that's what you expect from staying in an old hotel in a very traditional village. Rooms were very clean, fresh sheets & towels daily. The hotel has nice lounge areas where you can relax with a glass of wine & game of dominos if the weather is wet!
The staff are very friendly & made us feel very welcome.
We had dinner at the hotel one night & ordered the Fish & Chips. Smacker the Chef served us Shark (fish was that big!) & Chips and it was the tastiest fish we'd had in a long time.
Breakfast was also very tasty, wide selection of foods including traditional english breakfast and kippers. Waitress again was friendly and made sure we never ran out of toast!
We were fortunate enough to be staying in Clovelly during the Clovelly Folk Festival. We saw Morris Dancers & listened to some good folk music in the Harbour with some local Devon ales.
If you're in the area, we definitely recommend a trip to Clovelly. Make sure you wear sensible shoes though, the hill is a killer!!More
