It is such a pretty village and we were able to stay in the heart of it at the New Inn. We had a lovely room with sea views from the large window seat. We ate in the restaurant which provided a lovely dinner. All the staff were very friendly.

Room Tip: Pay a little more for the sea view

As part of our trek around the south west coast path the New Inn was a very quaint and quite comfortable stop. No TV or radios in the room though and the bar menu was limited with the restaurant closed, but great and very welcome baths.

We went as a family and after several awful meals at other establishments great at last to have a reasonably decent meal. We ate about 7pm on a weekday and all the tables were taken. The service was good and the food was reasonably priced. A good choice of pubby food.

Clovelley is on a very steep hill so it is about 8 minutes uphill to this place from the SW Coast path but it is worth the walk up to be away from the 'hustle and bustle' of the harbour area. When we were there they had a music festival at the harbour and it would have been a noisy place to try to get an early night. We had an annexe room in the New Inn - excellent choice. The annexe is right across the cobbled street from the pub itself. Our room was big with a comfortable sofa area, a large bathroom and a view onto the cobbles. These rooms don't have a TV but that didn't worry us. The New Inn serves good value pub food and good beer. The staff were all very helpful. It wasn't a busy pub so we could enjoy a quiet evening to relax after the long days walk. Breakfast is served in a very pleasant dining room in the New Inn. Excellent breakfast. We enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep and would happily stay here again.
