We were staying at Trewethett Farm Caravan site and were going to attept to walk to Tintagel on our first evening.
The drizzle started halfway down the first hillside and we climbed over past the Rocky Valley path carrying on towards Tintagel. When we reached the top of the hill and realised how far we had left to walk considering the time and the continuing rain we decided to turn back.
Thankfully we chose to walk up Rocky Valley, past the mill towards the road. We decided it would be easier walking along the road in the wet than up the cliffs.
The valley itself is wonderful, so much to look at and see. Following the bubbling river upwards I looked out for the labyrinths on the wall but alas couldn't see them. Spent a little time sheltering in the mill area covered by thick trees.
Rocky Valley is a truly atmospheric place and we were so glad to have visited.
