Fancied a midweek break so threw a dart and came up with The Port William.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and warm. Stunning views accross the bay and listening to the roar of the tide as it came crashing in was a joy.

Lovely supper and reasonably priced. Breakfast in the morning was fresh and plentyful.

We took the dog who was more than happy and catered for.

I have no problem recommending The Port William for a break and think we may well return at some stage in the New Year. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.

Stayed one night at this fabulous place. Brilliant view of the sea, crashing waves. Clean and cheerful. Good service. Dog friendly. Food acceptable and reasonable but would expect a little more and perhaps not allow dogs in to the breakfast area - what's wrong with leaving the dog in the room or the car for crying out loud! Some people!

We stayed here from Friday Oct 25th to Tuesday Oct 29th. It was everything we had hoped for. We did our research first, mainly on trip advisor and could not have been happier with our choice.

It's Autumn. It's windy, and wet at times, but we don't care. We wanted peace and seclusion, staying as close to the sea as possible without actually needing a waterbed! We wanted stormy seas, excelllent coastal walking opportunities and somewhere cosy to rest our weary limbs, wholesome, filling food and a warm atmosphere with plenty of ale and cider on tap to quench our thirst.

The Port William ticked every box, from the simply designed, cosy but perfectly adequately sized room with en suite, and a nice wide window board for sitting and watching the sea, and the sea view to watch while awakening in bed in the mornings, to the hearty breakfasts and choices therein, simple but hearty, well cooked and well delivered evening meal choices, numerous ales and ciders to choose from, pool table, open fire and courteous, attentative service from every member of staff, all of the time.

At times it really felt like we had transported ourselves to a long forgotten age of little else to distract you than the sound of waves crashing against the rocks and beautiful scenery and manageable sized crowds of people. A rare location these days indeed!

Thumbs up to everyone involved in making sure the Port William Inn continues to excel, from the cleaners through to the management team, and thank you all for a wonderful 4 night stay.

Room Tip: 7 of the 8 rooms have sea views. Our was room 4, almost above the entrance and was perfectly placed...

We stayed just down the road from the port William, but we Ate here for 2 nights, the food was delicious, big platefuls, couldn't fault it, the prices of the food and drinks were good for what you got. It's a lovely place to just spend some time playing pool and having a relaxed drink. Would defiantly go there again.

I love this hotel! Such a beautiful location on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It feels like the edge of the world. The inn is charming with functional rooms at good prices. It has a great, cozy pub and restaurant with local ales. My favorite part is the terrace with picnic tables overlooking the cliffs and waves crashing against the rocks. The sunset was amazing. There are great hiking trails along cliffs or to Tintagel Castle; you can get box lunches from the hotel. Fun to watch the surfers. 3 miles to town of Tintagel. Plenty of parking.
