“Our stay at Camelot Castle Tintagel”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

We had a wonderful time during our stay.

When we arrived we were given a tour of the ground floor and what was really good was the fact that we were given the choice of 2 very different rooms which we could look around alone to make our decision.

All the staff were so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us, and on 2 evenings there was a man playing the harp (WONDERFUL)

The views are brilliant and the castle felt like a real home.

We would highly recommend a visit and we will definately return again

We stayed with friends for three nights in this fantastic amazing castle hotel! It really does its name justice, with its great ambience. The surroundings are awsome, inspiring and absolutely beautifull. The staff are very very frendly and helpful. The restaurant offers a nice menu. The rooms are very comfortable with fantastic views, and the spacious beds are a real joy to sleep in, very clean, with lovely fragrant-crispy-clean white bedlinen!
The Camelot Castle Hotel also has a certain added quirkiness, which makes it stand out of the usual hotels. A great place not to be missed.
We all had a fantastic time!
Thanks to their staff and one of the owners!

We have just returned from a weekend away at Camelot Castle. We were not sure what to expect and did wonder if it was going to be a bit 'weird' after reading some do the reviews. However we were so impressed. We had been upgraded on the phone but when we arrived we found that we had been upgraded again to the junior suite. This is an amazing suite - four poster bed, huge bathroom with jacuzzi bath and sea views.
We ate at the hotel - the food is delicious and the service fantastic.
All the staff at the hotel are so friendly and offer a really personal service. The hotel service here is outstanding - they really have got it 100% right.
We met Ted Stourton, who gave us a tour of his studios - his wonderful paintings fill the hotel. We purchased one of Ted's paintings for our new home which will have pride of place and remind us of our perfect and 'different' weekend in cornwall.
The hotel is very 'grand' with amazing furnishings and loads of quirky character. You can just lounge around on the large sofas, sit looking at the sea in the tea lounge or have the best gin and tonic ever In the bar.
On Saturday we walked round the coast path to Tintagel castle and spent most of the day walking round the ruins on the cliff tops.
Camelot Castle is well worth a visit - go with an open mind, enjoy the splendour and quirkiness and relax under the care of the fantastic staff there. We will certainly be returning.

We had read a lot of reviews about this hotel before we went there and I must admit we were feeling a bit apprehensive about it. We didn't know what to expect when we read about the pods. We were surprised when we got there to find that we were in a wonderful room with a fantastic view of the whole bay and a four poster bed. We had a pod, it was small but spotlessly clean. Our attitude is that you only ever sleep in the room, it was clean and suited us well. The food was delicious, you couldn't fault it at all, especially breakfast. There are a lot of interesting walks around the hotel and the village is lovely too. All in all we had a great stay and would advise that you go there with an open mind as it is different.

6 of us from Wales recently stayed at Camelot Castle on a mid week deal. This is a lovely, quirky hotel, ideal for the location, the service from the friendly staff, the quality of food in the dining room and the quality of the accommodation. We felt that the priority of the staff was to make our stay as enjoyable as possible which they succeeded in doing.

Three friends and I went away for a break, we picked on the Camelot Castle Hotel as we had brochure through the door and it looked really nice. Upon arrival staff made us feel very welcome and all through our break they were attentive and very polite, nothing was too much trouble for them. Food we could not fault it - one exception, toast was always cold and bread very thin. It would have been much nicer to serve toast when our breakfast was served. Views from the hotel are fantastic and the hotel itself has lovely wood burning stoves with a cosy and friendly atmosphere. Only one complaint - unfortunately two of my friends had really tiny rooms with a very small handbasin and extremely small shower with plastic curtain. It was not good for someone who had not got rid of their weight from Christmas. This needs looking into. We all would return to Camelot Castle Hotel but we need to know that all our party had decent size rooms with decent showers. Plumbing also needs sorting out.

I organised this surprise weekend stay at the Camelot Hotel after receiving a flyer through the post. It was to mark my Husbands 50th Birthday and what a wonderful weekend we had. The hotel is a very special atmospheric place, you almost expect to see King Arthur himself walking around the corridors. The staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive, the rooms comfortable, the food delicious and plentiful. A magnificent building amongst magnificent settings, the scenery from the hotel is breathtaking,
