My friend and I just happened to be wandering through Tintagel, looking for a late lunch....what a fantastic find! Charlie's looked a little unassuming on a cold windy November day in Tintagel, but as we looked at the menu in the misted up window, someone opened the door, and the smell was just......amazing!

Inside, this attractive light and airy deli with lots of local produce on the shelves was buzzing with a birthday party. We were greeted warmly by Rebecca....given a HUGE cup of tea, and time to order from a really appetising menu. My friend settled for lemon sole with a caper and parsley butter sauce...I think, and I had the freshest, most delicious local dressed crab that I've ever had..all served with fab fresh salad and new potatoes..the food was lovely to look at, even nicer to eat, and portions were satisfying, without being overwhelming and terrific value for money. The homemade desserts were just gorgeous....I'll definitely be back!

Superb friendly service, wonderful food, and so good to have soya milk with my tea :) And a lovely range of gluten free food. Somewhere to take my friend from Yorkshire when she comes to stay. Thanks Rebecca and Daniel

Home made food and most choices available gluten free. Staff very conscious of food allergies and knowledgeable about coeliac disease and cooking for it. Felt human again with menu being very clearly marked and not needing to ask a lot of painful questions. Excellent food and service.

Such friendly service and great soup and scones! It was quiet when we were in there, but there's a lovely children's play area in the back, with a story written on the wall and fun toys for little ones. It must be a very nice place to go with children. We were well-cared for and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our visit there!

This IS a nice deli and café, but as it is also billed as 'family-friendly' that seems to be pseudonymic for noisy children and even noisier parents. I don't know why that has to be the case, but it so often is. Be warned, if you don't enjoy drinking your latté in a creche.
Service by Rebecca is indeed very friendly, and chef husband Charlie very accommodating.
We had a couple of vegetarian burgers, one on seeded nbap with Cornish Blue and harissa mayo, one on sourdough bap with fried egg and their own chutney. Both came with bowls of chips and salad, well presented on square slate platters. A latté was specifically ordered with little milk but arrived in an irritating glass full of milk and was made with unexceptional dreary Drury espresso. The search for good espresso in North Cornwall continues...
