“Go if you can!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

My mother waited on the cliff top while I scrambled down the steps (which are only rocks at the very bottom). I had the good fortune of being alone in the cave for a few moments, and standing still in such an amazing spot was a treat. Wear good shoes, be prepared to scramble over rocks, find out the times of the tides, and go if you can!

“Breathtaking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

Before climbing up to the Castle its well worth a visit to the cave although make sure its on a sunny or at least dry day as it would be very slippery on the steps and the stones if it was raining.

“The crystal cave”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

Turns out it's quartz! What a magical place. You have to go at low tide in order to make the trek down to the entrance to Merlin's Cave. You can wake right through from the entrance to the other side if the tide is low enough. Careful don't get stuck with the tide coming in. Visually a feast for the eyes and for the spirit!

“Yes it's a cave...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2012 via mobile

Had to write a quick review here, been to Tintagel lots of times and it's a lovely walk down to the cafe at the bottom. No getting the land rover back up! Walk off the cake.... Now, people have left reviews as poor & average about the cave saying its only a cave! Yes it is only a cave but it's merlins cave...... Go when the tide is out and wander right through. Better when the tide is in and sea is rough so you can imagine the dragons fiery breath...
