“Great buisness Hotel !”
Reviewed November 5, 2013

We booked at the Atlantic View Hotel as we were looking for a base in North Cornwall for one of our sales team.

The booking was simple and the administration equally so and great value too!

Our staff member enjoyed bed breakfast and evening meal which he described as fabulous!

The room included free wifi which was really helpful, and an early breakfast was arranged and this was perfect.

We will be booking again on our next visit.

We have stayed at The Atlantic View Hotel for many years and that in itself should say it all!. As a family we are looking for a great friendly atmosphere with food that suits both children and adults. Well I can honestly say the Atlantic View Hotel delivers on all fronts. The food is fantastic and the staff are always great and happy to help with the childrens needs.
The hotel also provides a great size pool which the kids love and spent ages in!
All this coupled with a great location within and I would challenge you to beat it!.
Another great stay from all of us and the kids are looking forward to next year.

Room Tip: It may appear over the top to give such a glowing review but we truly love this hotel and that's...

Great location for stunning Cornwall scenery

We had a very good stay at the Atlantic View Hotel in early September. Despite the rainy weather the setting of the hotel can best be described as dramatic and scenic. The hotel is  just a half a mile front the sea cliffs. Here is our summary:

Location - excellent location as the hotel is half way between Port Isaac (where Doc Martin is filmed) and Tintagel.

Service - the proprietors are very friendly and helpful. Their advice to arrive in Port Isaac prior to 10am was well heeded and made the difference between quickly finding a parking spot or queuing for a long time to get a parking spot.

Cleanliness - very good standards. Somewhat dated decor and very minor water damage below windows in our room.

Restaurant/bar - there is a cozy, well stocked bar in the hotel. The breakfast was excellent with numerous choices from cereal and toast to full English, and variations between. Some members of our group were picky and wanted specific items and the wait staff gladly obliged. Dinner each night was five courses: starter, soup, main, dessert, and finally a cheese board. Menu is upscale and typical of a four star restaurant. Dinner is a bargain considering price and what you get.

Amenities we noted or used - indoor swimming pool, pool table, off street parking, access to the coastal path by traversing the field outside the front door, bar, tv in our room. Wifi is available downstairs in the bar and lounge, but not in our room on 2nd floor.

We Recommend this hotel.

What a lovely hotel this is. Very clean, stunning views and lovely food. An excellent find and the owners hospitality is warm and friendly.
Our room had a huge and comfortable bed and the ensuite was spotless.
Easy access to the costal path too for a lovely walk before dinner! Dinner was 5 courses with good portion sizes and very tasty too. Breakfast was lovely too with a good choice of cereals, fruit and a wholesome English breakfast.

We would definitely go back.

Charming family-run small hotel in an extensively-renovated 19th century stone farmhouse.

Pro: Lovely views, outstanding food, very good wine list. Excellent, friendly service. Rooms are smallish but well-appointed, clean and furnished with very comfortable beds. (She: Best hair dryer in Europe!) Indoor swimming pool, games room with pool table. Close to spectacular walking trails.

Con: Music from lounge could be heard until 2300. Wi-Fi available only in common rooms.

Certain to return.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the ocean.

The Atlantic View is a wonderfully hospitable place, perfectly located for the stunning Cornwall coastal path. The owners, John and Rosemary, were very welcoming and all the other staff were friendly too. The breakfasts were great and the dinners also - although you'll need some stiff walks along the coast path to undo the damage of five courses... Bedrooms comfy and cosy (but not cramped), bath was a good size and very quiet and relaxing. We were worried about not having a car, but found it was not a problem - plenty of good walks from the hotel and the beach at Trebarwith Strand is beautiful.

Have just retuned from a week's stay at the Atlantic View Hotel. From our first meeting with the hosts Rosemary and John to our departure could not find fault. Our room was of a very good size with a shower en suite with views over the farmland and the Cornish coast.
The five course dinner (different every night) Not sure how Rosemary does it!! was delicious and plentiful not meagre portions that one sometimes get. The homemade bread in the evenings - could make a meal of that alone. Breakfast was very good as well. An Easy walk into Tintagel either by the nearby coastal path or the pavement. My only very small grumble was although there was free wifi, could only be accessed from the lounge, bar areas - not a problem but would have been the extra cherry on top if it was available in the rooms. If we wanted to be in the North Cornish coast again would have not hesitation in booking there again
