Visited the Idle Rocks for a lunchtime meal yesterday (Sunday 4th Aug.) It has just undergone a £2000,000.00 refurbishment and it shows. Very clever decore....La Mere Chic. Very Nice.
We had a warm welcome as we entered the modern unstuffy reception. We were shown straight to our table (by choice - we could have sat in a very nice lounge area) by young, polite, friendly staff.
The view from the dinning area is stunning, looking straight out into the bay and over to St Anthony Lighthouse. Again the dining area had that open fresh feel that flowed through the whole establishment. The chatty and cheerful staff took our order and the service was timely and efficient. Food was great from a varied but not overcrowded menu. My only criticism is a limited wine list. What wine there was, was a tad expensive but good quality. For a quality experience at reasonably pitched prices - this is the place.
