“Afternoon tea on the terrace”
Reviewed August 11, 2014 via mobile

Walked by after visiting the castle and decided to have afternoon tea. A bit pricey at £10 each for two scones and a pot of tea each but the view was magnificent. The scones were lovely and light and the clotted cream - well say no more! We were being surrounded by wasps so one of the staff brought a small saucer with jam on it and placed it away from us which did the trick. It was a lovely way to spend an hour or so on a summer's day.

“fantastic food, with a delightful landscape”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

Our fish dishes were both a delicacy, locally-sourced and well-presented. After dinner we enjoyed some refreshing cocktails while looking at the bay

“BIG mistake.....”
Reviewed August 8, 2014

... I only booked Hotel Tresanton for one night, I'm definitely going to make sure this doesn't happen again, more time is needed to truly appreciate and soak in the beauty of this place.

I'm looking around, I want to remember this, soft early evening light caresses the creams and blues of the dining room, tea lights nestling in pebbles flicker and staff clad in crisp white tunics move effortlessly from table to table seeing to diners every need. This place is perfection, down to every minute detail. Many have chosen to eat out on the terrace and why not, the view is spectacular, but the increasing chill of the evening makes al fresco dining not so appealing for me so a table for two by the window is ours.

The food, well, you just have to experience it, every plate perfection artistically, every plate a joy to eat. Who'd have thought rocket, peaches, toasted almonds and Parmesan could work so well together, but they do and the peaches at exactly the right stage of ripeness. Curried giant couscous, roasted peppers, aubergine and mackerel fillets - heaven. Portion sizes spot on, no feeling uncomfortably full and problems sleeping. Tunisian orange cake partnered with yogurt ice cream perfect partners for the palate.

Does it matter if it's a tinsy bit on the pricey side when all is so good, when you can't find this anywhere else?
