Jesus Christ top notch best 3 rd time new menu the seafood platter was excellent so many flavours! She had the fillet steak with port n Stilton sauce plates cleaned! Loved it the staff are like busy bees so don't expect silver service but if anything is wrong they will rectify VERY quickly! Got dessert too!! Summer fruit pudding and mermaid mess! If anyone one dislikes these desserts they are moronic us greedy uns scoffed the lot and it tasted fantastic thank you the mermaid and the great food experience with the new presentation in little chip baskets really made us enjoy the experience of food much better loved it thanks and will definitely be going again for the fourth year and we are fussy buggers! Read the other reviews, went along on a Friday eve with no reservation, leaflet came in a holiday pack. Party of 3 all having 3 courses with local cider. Excellent food and service.

“Great Food and service!”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

What more can you ask for. It was a little crowded but that produced a friendly atmosphere. The menu was good as was the food. The staff were exceedingly helpful and the close by location to the town centre was fine. We had a fish bowl in the great restaurant on FISH STREET and would go again (if we booked early enough)
Having to book early says it all - good places to eat are soon full.

“Bizarrely quiet for St Ives' best kept secret.”
Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

Have been lots of times, pre-kids, with child and as an extended family. Tonight came as a couple with our 5 year old. Great food as ever, but a couple of touches show that there's been a bit of a decline. Service was pleasant and friendly, but very slow. Menu choice seems to be more limited than previously, and even the drinks choice has diminished (only one ale, Tribute, despite St Austell offering a wide range). Place was three quarters empty, despite most other St Ives restaurants being fully booked. Seems a shame as I love the ambience, decor and food but obviously I'm out of step with contemporary St Ives tastes. Please support this place and restore it to its former preeminence as its fortunes seem to be fading. It's too good to be left behind by the cruel dictates of fickle fashion!
