Our party of 5 recently had dinner at this lovely restaurant on picturesque Porthminster Beach. I honestly can say that the entire evening here was fantastic, all of our party really enjoyed the food, the Monkfish curry in particular was really memorable. The presentation and flavours are superb, easily surpassing anything else we had in St Ives.
The service was very warm and friendly but not too in your face. We brought our little 5 month old baby boy along with us and the waitress made a real fuss over him, any parents with small children out there will know how nice this is, particularly as some places can be very unwelcoming towards children.
All in all fantastic food, very nice relaxed restaurant and well priced, without doubt the best meal we had in St Ives.

We went here because of the several good reviews but were a little bit disappointed. We expected fine dining but the meal was just average and heavy with a lot cream. It wasn't bad at all but not what you are expect when you are going in one of the best restaurants in St. Ives.

Another tip: when you are not from GB, better not sit on the terrace - I reserved a table outside because they promised that they have radiant heater and close it with a tent. But when we went there, the heating was on but the tent was open and the cold wind from the sea came in - it was freezing cold. I couldn't understand the British as they were sitting there in T-shirts and the staff wasn't really willing to close the tent.sso we finally got a table inside. If you are not cold resistant as the British don't reserve a table outside!

The location is wonderful and the service was relaxed but very professional.
However it's all about the food in the end.
We really enjoyed our starters of scallops and mussels which were beautifully cooked. We both opted for the monkfish curry main course which was just outstanding. We were a bit disappointed by the selection of puddings and had caramelised banana as the best choice on offer but found it spoilt by an overwhelming quantity of pistachio.
If you love fish you will experience fabulous cooking here but don't visit if you want pudding heaven

Our first visit here and its a great experience. Slick well run beach cafe with style and substance. Excellent menu with excellent fish and asian fusion menus and good wine. Highly recommended. You will need to book.

We have had wonderful dinners at this superb restaurant many times before so today we decided to have breakfast there for the first time. The sun was shining, it was warm on the decking, very conducive to enjoying a leisurely breakfast. Initially the waitress was very friendly and appeared efficient and everything was greeted with 'no problem' ! however there were problems actually, whilst the flat white coffees were really excellent and arrived promptly, our orders of poached eggs and sourdough toast came 20 mins later without butter and sauces which we had requested. After politely mentioning it again, the waitress replied in a very surly manner and then there was another lengthy wait until they were proffered very ungraciously but by then it was a bit late and the food was only just warm. Sadly a disappointing start to our holiday !!
