Whilst the setting is spectacular and the service exemplary it is the food that that makes this a go to destination. After three visits in 6 days it is some of the best cuisine in the UK.

Stunning setting, amazing menu, delicious food and excellent service. What more can you want! We were lucky to get the last table so booking is definitely recommended. We would go back again and again. Can't wait for our next trip to Cornwall.

The situation is superb on Porthminster Beach , and the lobster was quite simply the best I have tasted for many years . A memorable dish, cooked to perfection .
Just remember to take change for the parking meter !

We'd eaten here last year and had enjoyed the meal. However this time, in search for 2 cream teas, we waited several minutes for the waiter to finish a long phone call with no apology for keeping us waiting only to be told dismissively that there were no cream teas left. Another staff member had come out whilst his colleague was on the phone and said he couldn't help us. So we departed to another cafe to have some cream teas. This was at 4.30pm so hardly late. Not impressed with the young waiter and we far prefer the superior Porthmeor Cafe usually no 1 or 2 on the TripAdvisor list anyway so no great loss.

On holiday in St Ives this restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel as their favourite - and they were right.
It is situated above one of the nicest beaches in Cornwall and the sun lasted until 9pm all of which made the meal even more enjoyable.
We were warmly received and the service throughout was smooth and knowledgeable. We both had soup and fish. The soup was very tasty and our fish was both delicious and presented in an imaginative way.
We recommend booking for a table nearer the beach .By the time we left at 9pm the place was full and it was obvious everyone was enjoying themselves.
