“The Best Place To Stay Whilst In St Ives”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

what can i say about this place but FANTASTIC WONDERFUL , We as a family have enjoyed all the types of accomadation here, Camping, touring caravan, static caravan, And Ayr Terrace and they have never let us down, even after 13 years of coming here we never got bored with the staff and the place, Chris and Debbie need a special mention always smiling and always happy to help us, Ayr holiday park is a must for all families trying st ives for the first time or returning again, all the accomadation has parking which is a money saver.
The grounds are maintained to a very high standard more so when the flowers are in full bloom

The place is always being improved year in year out. Has a mobile shop that saves the walk in the morning to the shop and breakfast bar in the packbackers field.

We love the place and all the staff even after 13 years we get such a wonderful reception each and every time. the games room is great for all the eager children who cant wait for parents to get ready.and the view from the site is just breathtaking.

If you require any information the reception staff go beyond the call of duty....

Well done to all our special place to stay St Ives Number 1

Room Tip: any always clean and maintained to a very high standard

This park is on the edge of St Ives, accessed through the local streets. It has a magnificent view of the westerly beach and the Tate St Ives. It has a new rather splendid shower block but the park is very expensive. It cost £33 a night without a hook up (including 2 dogs) which is very pricey
For the un-fit, walking back from the town is hard work, nearly vertical in places. Its better to come back via the coastal path rather than the treck through the streets, the coastal path is a much more gentle climb and much more interesting.

We stayed one night in the overflow camping with a 4 person tent, no electric, one car and two adults and we were charged 28 pounds. The night before we stayed at a place in Hayle and it was 13 pounds. With the charges and exchange rate it came to $44.12. I could get a hotel room in a small town in the US for that. Location was good because we could walk into St. Ives from there which is why it probably cost so much. Nice showers too but still overpriced in my opinion. Oh and the wifi cost extra. The other place was free.

We spent just over a week at the site on a serviced hard standing pitch in June, although the pitch was sloping and we needed several blocks it was worth it for the views over St Ives Bay. The toilet block is spotless and very rarely busy as the site is not huge. Nice walk down the hill to Porthmeor Beach, bit of a haul back up bit you can get a but into the park for £1 each. We discovered the scenic cliff top walk down to the bay late on in our holiday wiich is easier on the legs coming back to the site. St Ives is a fantastic place with several bays to choose from. Have booked again next year as most do who go to this site.

A campsite that has it all, outstanding views, cleanliness, friendly staff, value for money, spacious pitch (love the little picnic benches), on site breakfast van perfect for our one night stay as we didn't bring any cooking gear, great facilities, family friendly, in town but also away from the hecticness.

I stayed with a friend last night and can't wait to return for longer stay. Also, thankyou for letting us leave our car in the far field after our checkout whilst we headed in to town. We noticed the extra touch and really did appreciate it!

We have stayed at Ayr before and our last visit was 3 years ago. Back then it was excellent and I am glad to see nothing has changed.

On arrival (make sure your sat nav takes you round the back of St Ives and not through it), we were warmly welcomed and given our pitch number literally within 30 seconds of being on site.

The site is small but that means no wondering around looking for where you are meant to be. The pitch we had was of a good size and were easily able to fit a car and 6 man tent with room to spare on it. The views are just fantastic and you can see the beaches and St Ives from almost anywhere on the site.

The site could not be any closer to the town itself, and is a quick 10min walk down the step hill. There is also direct access to the coastal path from Ayr which is handy for those who want to explore, again you are literally 5mins away from stunning cliff top views.

The facilities are limited due to the size of the site, but this doesn’t matter. The Shower/toilet block is the best I have ever used, Clean/tidy and modern. Plenty of water points and electric hook up for those who need it.

Also the site is very dog friendly. There are loads of allocated bins and even a area designated for dog exercise. If you don't have a dog don't let that put you off, all dogs are kept on leads and the site is kept clean.

We will be going back, hopefully we won't wait 3 years this time.

Just returned from one week holiday at Ayr Holiday Park and to say that this is simply the best site in the UK I have ever been to. the views are stunning, the caravans immaculate and the shower and toilet block is a joy. It is true to say that the site doesn't have a club house or bar but it doesn't need one as the majority of people visit the site for what it is - an excellent example of why many people decide to stay in thr UK rather than go abroad for a holiday. Highly recommended .
