“A little gem”

My parents booked the cottage. They were sure that we'd (myself and the boyfriend!) love it and they were right! We were a little perturbed initially by the single beds (parents took a double room each and left us with the twin) but the views and just being snuggled up listening to the rain on the roof made up for it! We were really lucky to have mild weather which really made our trip. The house was really well equipped, especially the kitchen. Cooking in it was a real pleasure. The one thing that would have been great was a little hook in the room somewhere to hang my dressing gown, but otherwise everything was perfect. The cottage was dog friendly and felt very cosy. There was a nice bottle of bubbly waiting to welcome us and a very useful folder containing useful information and tips. The only issue we had was with all the traffic whizzing around St Ives and past the cottage. It's a real shame the the town itself isn't pedestrianised. It wouldn't put us off returning though, sadly the town we live in has similar problems, so we are used to dodging cars!

“Amazing holiday!”
Reviewed September 15, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed at Kittiwake from 4th Sept for a week and it was wonderful.

The cottage is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need including baking goodies! We also made use of the beach accessories such as bucket, spade and windbreaker that was provided- very useful!

The cottage is in an excellent location and is literally a one minute walk from the shops and five minutes to the beach and the views from the upstairs room are amazing!

We got a little lost trying to find the cottage itself as the postcode took us elsewhere but we called Charlotte who was able to direct us immediately. We had sainsburys deliver our food on arrival also which worked really well and would recommend.

There were four adults and one child in the cottage and I would say this was perfect- you could have one additional child in the extra single bed but in my opinion six adults would be too much for this cottage in terms of social space eg living room.

If you have very small children ie a pram, you may find the incline to and from the cottage a little difficult to manoeuvre but then most of St Ives is on an incline so something to consider.

The only thing we noted was that in the pictures we had seen an outside table and chairs in the small outside section but this wasn't there on arrival- I think it would have been nice to sit outside with a cup of tea so I would suggest that this could be added back in?

The overall booking process was very smooth and Charlotte answered all my queries in speedy time!

Overall an amazing cottage and an unbelievable holiday! I would highly recommend!

“Great family holiday in a well presented cottage.”

We stayed Monday to Friday at the end of the school holidays and had a lovely time. On arrival you immediately notice that the cottage has been refurbished to a high standard and provides everything for a family with small children. Our girls discovered dvds, books, games and colouring pencils much to their delight. The welcome basket was a nice touch and really appreciated, milk in the fridge, tea, coffee, snacks, even chocolate for the children. The attic conversion is a wonderful space and offers fabulous views, also the perfect place to sit and read a book. The one thing I would point out is, the cottage is situated on a bend of a very busy road which can make crossing difficult, especially with young children, however, this in no way had a negative effect on our holiday. I would also like to mention how helpful Charlotte (the owner) has been during and after our stay. We would love to return to Kittiwake Cottage in the future.

“Lovely cottage but location not brilliant”
Reviewed August 26, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed here for one week - 2 adults and 4 teenagers. A bit snug at times. The cottage is very well appointed, probably one of the best I have stayed in. Shame it hasn't got two showers - 6 of us queuing up for one after a day at the beach. There is also no really useable outside space to sit and relax. It is also on a busy road at times and parking is some distance away with no guarantee of a space and it costs. However it is very close to the town centre, train station and one beach in particular.

Thanks for your kind comments. We have have just sorted the outside shower so all that beach sand can be washed off now and it has hot water!. We are looking into getting a parking space close by as parking in St Ives in august like everywhere can be tricky.

“Great central St Ives location”
Reviewed August 23, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Great cottage, cosy but comfortable and well equipped. The location is brilliant, just a few minutes from the town but out of the way and quiet. Really appreciated the bucket&spade (and windbreak!). We enjoyed a fantastic week in St. Ives with our children (9 & 12) and Father in Law. We loved the shops, galleries, beaches and harbour and loads of nearby places to visit just a short drive away. Highly recommend St. Ives and Kittiwake Cottage. We all loved the view from the top bedroom - stunning.

“Cosy cottage in good location”
Reviewed August 23, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This cottage is very welcoming with the nice touch of a welcome bottle of prosecco!. Lovely decor. Views from the lookout bedroom were fantastic. Back bedroom and front room didn't get an awful lot of light and the tiny back yard certainly didn't. Fully equipped and in a good location - not too close to busy harbour front but easy to access everywhere. St Ives was fantastic and our girls had surfing lessons most days - unfortunately the outside shower wasn't working while we were there which would have been a real boost. Charlotte, the owner replied very quickly when I had a query.

“Perfection!”
Reviewed July 2, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I had a wonderful weekend in St Ives celebrating my 50th birthday. The cottage is clean and the bedding and rooms are beautiful. The bubbly, biscuits and coffee on arrival are perfect and the location is spot on.
