Have just returned from a fabulous stay in this B&B in Carbis Bay.
We booked on recommendation from this site and we were so glad we did. We were greeted warmly by Mark, who showed us around his home and to our beautiful room which had a lovely view of the Bay and St Ives beyond. We loved the little touches such as the honesty bar, yummy carrot cake and port to round off the evening. If you are looking for the bright lights, St Ives is only a short train ride from St Ives or a short walk - ideal for a night out with plenty of restaurants and bars.
We will be back..oh and the reason we were drawn became apparent just as we left..we met two delightful pets, Bramley oh so soppy but the teachers pet just has to be Apple a complete bundle of fun!!

Friends had recommended Headland House to us a premier place to stay in St Ives- boy were they right! From the moment we arrived we sensed the place was special and in a league of its own. Greeted by the most friendly and affable proprietors, Mark & Fenella exuded all the best qualities so seldom experienced these days as so called customer service-they are a marvel. Headland House is a delight, situated in this most exquisite part of Cornwall- St Ives. It is self evident from all the small quality touches that pervade their establishment that there is a style, subtlety, comfort and attention to detail everywhere and that you'd be forgiven for thinking it's a 5* Hotel masquerading as a B&B!! I seldom make recommendations for fear of disappointing and never anything so technical as posting on the interweb but this place should not be a kept a secret. Go, you'll be glad you did.

Recently stayed at this gorgeous B&B on the recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed. We had two beautifully decorated rooms with luxurious beds overlooking Carbis Bay to St Ives. Our hosts Mark and Fenella were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very comfortable. Breakfast was great and afternoon tea was provided in the cosy living room each afternoon. None of our other B&B accommodation in the UK came close to this.
We loved Headland House and hope to return one day. ( we certainly can't say this about some of the other places we stayed recently)

Like the previous reviewer, we also stayed in the Mousehole room. The bathroom was beautiful! The whole house is really elegant and Mark and Fenella are lovely. The house is very near Carbis Bay beach and train station (where you can catch the train to St Ives centre, £1 each way and only 5 mins ride away with great views - highly recommended). The little touches are very sweet, like the free coffeeand cake in the afternoon. I'll definitely be staying again!

fantastically stuled B&B close to beach. Loved snug, friendly service, breakfast. Our room was tiny (mousehole) but the bathroom was massive so that made up for it and it had a lovely cast iron bath.
Loved the carrot cake (best I've ever eaten) and would wholeheartedly recommend it!
Go to Porthminster Cafe for dinner too - it was great.

Headland house was amazing as soon as we stepped onto the front lawn.

Mark and Fenella are so welcomingly, they made our stay very enjoyable. We stayed here over the August bank holiday weekend, and when I booked over a month ago, Fenella was so kind to give us a list of recommended restaurants to book ahead of the busy weekend. This is by far the best B&B my husband and I have stayed at in England. The house is gorgeous inside and out, I was admiring the furnishings and fixtures and secretly getting some ideas for my house back at home. LOL.

The view from Room 4 of Carbis Bay and St Ives at a distance was truly beautiful to wake up to every morning.

As noted by other reviewers, the breakfast was to die for and the afternoon tea/coffee and cake was an added bonus after a day of site seeing.

We hope to come back to Cornwall and stay at Headland House with Mark and Fenella's hospitality in the near future.

Have just returned from a thoroughly needed relaxing break at Headland House, from the very first moment we pulled up in the car park we were so pleased if first impressions are anything to go by we knew we were onto a good thing, tropical palms, lovely lawned garden with double hammock, decking with settees, we were greeted by Fenella who was so welcoming, she showed us around, the moment you enter Headland House you feel relaxed, it really does have the air of calm and tranquility, the lounge/snug bar are beautifully decorated, the breakfast room and conservatory are beautifully airy and bright with relaxing music playing at breakfast, in the evening Cafe Del Mar music is playing and scented candles all give you that yummy holiday feeling. Our room had stunning views over St. Ives, the bed was truly divine, we watched stunning sunsets from the comfort of ours! Our room had everything you could possibly need, every small details had been thought of, White Company toiletries, silk coat hangers, shoe horn and cloths brush! You don't even get them in large hotels. Breakfasts can only repeat what others have said are delicious, fresh fruit, organic yoghurts, scrambled eggs to die for. Mark are Fenella have really got this spot on and clearly love their work and it shows, they booked us into restaurants gave us local knowledge which is invaluable, we have already got our diaries out for 2010 as these guys are going to be booked solid. We cannot recommend this place highly enough, though it hurts to tell everyone else as it'll make it even more difficult to get in.
