“Magical”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

We stay at Headland House for a few days every year as we love it so much and as you see from the fantastic reviews this is a very, very special luxury B&B. Staying this time getting towards the end of the season in early October was such a pleasure with early morning mists, beautiful red skies and even a rainbow all viewed from our lovely Sennen bedroom bay window.
The House seems quite magical at this time of year, as the décor is so warm and welcoming, full of lanterns, flowers and candles. It is just such a pleasure to be tucked away in such a beautiful environment. Mark and Fenella have created a perfect destination and are still adding more and more special touches to make your stay even more special. This meant I got to try the luxurious and indulgent new toiletries from Nobile Isle and the new drink offered in the snug of Shrub, a fruit liqueur (delicious mixed with dark navy rum). Headland House is just perfect whatever time of year!

We stayed at Headland house for 2 nights at the beginning of the season this year and it was easily the best B&B or even hotel for that matter that we have stayed in the UK. Everything about Headland house is 5* from the location in Carbis bay to the extensive breakfast available and everything in between. We stayed in Cape Cornwall which is quite a large room with a roll top bath to die for, but all of the rooms are equally gorgeous!!!

Mark and Fenella do a great job of making you feel welcome and are very helpful with any local information or advice. The view from the B&B is absolutely stunning even on a cloudy day. The atmosphere enables you to instantly relax and wind down and makes a wonderful short break. Well worth the long drive from London, would highly recommend Headland house if you are looking for that little something extra special in your holiday break.

We have just come back from a weekend at the Headland House Hotel and everything was lovely! It was everything that we expected (and more!) from reading the other reviews. We were greeted by Mark on our arrival - he was very welcoming and showed us around the house (we made special note of the complimentary cake in the snug!!). We stayed in the Cape Cornwall room which was gorgeous - lovely big room which was well decorated with a gorgeous roll top bath in the bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and something for every taste, loved the smoothie shots on the tables too. The station is a two minute walk away and is only a few minutes to St Ives - perfect if you don't want to drive. Overall we had a fab weekend and look forward to returning.

Room Tip: The Cape Cornwall room was lovely and big and the bathroom has a gorgeous roll top bath.

We recently stayed at Headland House on our honeymoon. We were not disappointed - it was everything we'd read - beautifully designed, friendly and accommodating.

The owners Mark & Fenella were very welcoming. The snug 'honesty' bar was very much appreciated and there was complimentary (delicious) cake and tea/coffee/port/sherry every day. The breakfasts were amazing!!

Our only comment is not a criticism, more a word of advice - we booked way too late and therefore didn't get our first choice of room. We ended up in the Mousehole room - which was lovely and had a super bathroom, but it was exactly as the name suggests - very small. For our honeymoon we'd have hoped for a bigger room. That said, it was our fault for dilly-dallying and not booking soon enough.

We would definitely recommend Headland House to other couples.

We also ate at a number of amazing restaurants in St Ives... don't be surprised that we give them all great reviews - we were really spoiled!!

Room Tip: Go for one of the larger rooms if poss - Mousehole was teeny tiny, although it did have a fantastic...

Just had a fab 3 night stay here & everything was lovely, from the warm welcome, to the gorgeous breakfasts (waffles with fresh fruit & creme fraiche..yummy!) & delicious afternoon cake.
We stayed in Room 4 Porthminster, which was well decorated, with neutral colours & had a lovely comfortable bed.
Well fitted bathroom, would have preferred slightly larger shower cubicle (no bath), good products & warm towel rail which made towels warm.
Superb views of St Ives, Carbis Bay & Godvrey lighthouse from bay window, which you could also see when lying in bed!!
Beautiful light dining room/conservatory even on a showery day. Everything well organised & relaxed.
Give it a try, if you can get in! You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Sea view is a must, so any of the rooms at the front.

Stayed in the Cape Cornwall room for 3 nights recently and had a lovely time. The room is a very good size with a huge bed and a great bathroom (bath with hand held shower), no sea view though.
The breakfasts were generous and catered for all tastes, and the complimentary afternoon tea and cake are just what you need after walking along the coastal path. There is also complimentary sherry and port plus an honesty bar.
Plenty of magazines and dvd's on offer if you just want a quiet night in and you are just a 20 minute walk along the coastal path (not advisable at night though as it can be slippy) or short train/car journey from the centre of St Ives.
The location at Carbis Bay is just wonderful, we will definitely be returning.

This B&B is ideally situated in Carbis Bay, a short walk from the local railway station and close to Carbis Bay Beach. There was no noise from the railway at all but it's a great way to travel into St Ives from Carbis Bay (£1 each way per person), avoiding car parking issues in St Ives. The line was apparently saved from Beeching's axe years ago by Barbara Castle and it's a godsend. Alternatively, you can walk into St Ives along the coastal path, which takes about 25 - 40 minutes.

Mark & Fenella are very welcoming. The breakfasts alone make the stay worthwhile. We stayed in Porthmeor Room, which has good views of St Ives on a clear day. There is off-road parking below the B&B.

Room Tip: Porthmeor for good views of St Ives Bay
