“Cornwall at its best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2013

We stayed in the Atlantic Heights for 3 nights in early April and had a fantastic time. The location is superb, just a 5 minute walk form the centre of St. Ives, but the short (steep) walk is so worth it. we stayed in room 1 and you just can't beat waking up to that view! The view is of Porthmeor Beach which also includes Godrevy Lighthouse in the near distance. It is a fantastic base for exploring all that Cornwall has to offer.

The hosts Tony and Carol were very friendly and welcoming. They always made time for a quick chat to ensure we made the most of our days and evenings - offering many good suggestions of where to go and eat. The room itself was spacious, very clean with an extremely comfortable bed. Oh and there's a jacuzzi bath which is a very nice touch! Breakfasts were also superb, very tasty and plentiful.

We will certainly be back again...

Check out some photos I took in and around the local area during our stay!

This was our first stay with Tony and Carol and probably the first of many more. Both go out of their way to make your stay as welcoming as possible. We arrived late but Tony was straight out to help us with parking and our luggage. The room itself was spacious and well presented with a great view out over St Ives bay. Amazingly we had a spa bath as well which made for a nice treat.

Tony's breakfasts are really special and we tried everything he had to offer including his handmade croissants which are soooo much better than supermarket ones! We also had a cream tea thrown in on the Saturday which was a pleasant surprise.

The location is really convenient as parking in St Ives is a nightmare but we were able to leave the car at the top of the hill and be in town within 5-7 minutes with all the restaurant choices that St Ives has to offer.

All in all an incredibly friendly stay in a very well presented B&B.

We love St Ives and we love Atlantic Heights!

We come down to St Ives on a regular basis and always try to stay at Atlantic Heights if they have vacancies. Tony and Carol are warm and welcoming hosts and we consider them friends.

Room 4 is at the top with breathtaking sea views, beautiful decor and a brand new ensuite.

Breakfast at Atlantic Heights is a chapter of its own: you can choose what you want and Tony will cook anything to your taste. He also makes his own pastries and croissants which are a real treat.

The rooms have plenty of tea/coffee options with lots of biscuits and chocolates. We were also treated to Carol's homemade scones with Cornish clotted cream and jam - so thoughtful!

This B&B is full value for your money and lots more as you are treated like long lost friends.

We stayed for 3 nights, and from the moment we arrived and were treated like long lost friends, to the hug we received when we left, we had a superb time. Carol And Tony are excellent hosts, who cannot do enough for you. The room was immaculate and had fabulous views of the sea/beach, the pillows were soft and the bed so comfortable. There were ample hot drinks and nibbles, and the cream tea was lovely, as were the home made ginger biscuits, (the only minor gripe about the room was the newly fitted bathroom still needed some electrical work doing, the extractor fan didn't work, meaning a very steamy room, however this was only a very minor point and didn't affect the overall experience). The breakfast, cooked to order was delicious, as was the fresh fruit salad. With parking provided, and only a short walk via a quite steep hill into St Ives we wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend Atlantic Heights to anyone.

Room Tip: Room 4 has a lovely sea view

We have just returned from our 3rd stay at Atlantic Heights & it just gets better. Tony & Carol are so welcoming it feels like we are staying with family. The location is fantastic with the most stunning views of the sea/beach & 5- 10min walk to the high st/harbour. The breakfasts are delicious & made to order something you would not get at most other guest houses & all the produce is locally sourced & made from scratch.
The two rooms we booked had amazing views & just had new bathrooms fitted (jacuzzi bath!) & the rooms are decorated well... V comfy beds! Fresh towels each day & nice to have dressing gowns in the room. Plenty of tea/coffee/hot choc & nibbles including carol's home made biscuits & a fridge handy if you want to enjoy a pre dinner drink whilst watching the sun go down over the sea.
We would not even consider staying at any other guest house in St Ives & can't wait to return for a 4th time hopefully later in the year!

Tony and Carol are what makes the difference between a good stay and a memorable stay.
A very nice couple, super friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding places to visit. They make you feel at home and Tony prepares very good breakfast no matter how strange or peculiar the requests can be. You can tell that Tony was in the construction business as the fruit salad is probably cut with a goniometer.
As we stayed over New Year Eve we got a complimentary bottle of Champagne: nice gesture!
The place is very clean, fresh and warm, the bed is like an injection of sleeping pils in your body: super comfortable. Other pluses: the view is very nice and they have a (Marina proof...)
parking just in front.
See you soon as we will be back!

Stayed at Atlantic Heights end of Sept 2012 for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. Location was perfect for me - not in the middle of the touristy area, but close enough if you don't mind a walk down (and back up the hill) to the restaurants and shops. Tony and Carol were great hosts, making wonderful suggestions for day trips in the area (Minack Theatre) as well as nearby restaurants worth trying. Would definitely stay here again whenever I go back to Cornwall.

Room Tip: Note that not all rooms have the stunning ocean view - we opted for a non-ocean view because we were...
