“GREAT HOILDAY ALL ROUND”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

With a party of twenty two of us staying at this park half term week what a greatt week it was.We stayed in the WOODLAND LODGE .What a lovely huge accommodation, clean ,tidy and warm heaters all around.Beds were a bit hard but never mind.Entertainment staff friendly and helpful. Pity people didn't take part in the games at night in stead of moaning ,how much more harder to the staff have to work apart from dragging people up to take part .Park does need updating but there are lot of lovely places to see while you are in Cornwall so it's a small price to pay.At the end of the day it's what you make of the holiday that counts.Keep up the great work entertainment staff ,see you next year .Also all the park staff well done.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more and stay in WOODLAND LODGE

From the moment we arrived at the camp everything was amazing. The staff were very polite and welcoming we had full use of the facilities on camp while we waited for our chalet as we had arrived before our check in time. The chalet was a little smaller than we expected but a minor detail it was walking distance from the camp shop and facilities which was perfect. The entertainment every night was first class and the stripeys were incredible. Never a dull moment always a great laugh. Very polite even when they were not working a fantastic team of entertainers. Everything about this holiday made it harder to leave and come back home. We will definately be going back hopefully in 2013.

We had the pleasure in staying in a 3 bedroom semi detached house. No smells, clean bedding and all amenities required for a weeks stay.

The park is clean, all lodgings are located in woodland so the kids can get out and explore.

Our house had a washing machine which we used and threw the washing into the launderette dryer. £1 for 20 minutes.

The park has all the things required to keep the children happy. Amusemnet arcade, play areas, indoor heated swimming pool and a fantastic kids club run by young and very talented people.............."Well Done!"

Night time entertainment is held in the sites club house. Bingo, live singing etc. Adults and children are also prompted to participate in games etc.

My only complaint about the club house is the price of drinks. Lower the prices abit and your onto a winner. Also, put some large screen tv's in there aswell. Adults like to watch live football on saturday afternoons. We all had to go into St Ives to watch the match.

All in all, we had a great time and we are looking to go back next year.

The Doyle's. House 312.

With regard to the prices of drinks, it is interesting to read that some reviewers have your opinion and many have said that our prices are what they would expect. We have to assume from that , that drinks prices vary greatly across the country.

We really hope to see you again in the near future.

Having booked and paid the full price for our holiday we were very worried about going having read some of the reviews on here, to the extent that we rang John Fowler Holidays to check things out.
Well we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived and got our chalet, no 42, it was lovely, clean, tidy and with none of the damp smells we were expecting. The one problem was the bathroom, which only had a bath, you could see where they had removed the shower, which was probably due to the pretty awful water pressure in this chalet and although a shower attachment was provided it was totally useless.
The whole chalet was pretty much faultless, apart from the u bend under the sink which was leaking, but this was quickly repaired and they even gave us the tokens to wash and dry our towels which we had used to mop up the water.
Not sure where some customers come from, but I work in a pub in Devon and can say that the prices in the bar were certainly not expensive, and were very competitive, £3.20 a pint for cider is not expensive, and the meals whilst quite basic for bar food were very nice.
The entertainment team were as good as some we have seen at parks like this, and the children certainly enjoyed it
The swimming pool was good, the children went swimming every day and loved the water slide.

The only down side of the park were 2 main problems we had but didnt really detract from the overall good holiday we had. Firstly the lack of lights along some of the paths to the chalet, it was very dark returning from the clubhouse and the paths were quite rough in places.
Secondly the water pressure or lack of it, attempting to wash hair was impossible as the pressure was not sufficient to allow water to flow out of the shower attachment they provided, a trickle of water does not clean childrens hair after swimming!!
All in all we enjoyed our holiday at the camp.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a chalet that is kept Pet Free

We are at a loss to understand why some people post such poor reviews for all to see. This is something that is general throughout the industry - we are not the only victims. Sadly, review sites are anonymous and it is virtually impossible to trace the reviewer and investigate their comments..

We look forward to welcoming you to our park again soon

Just returned today, and I've got to say the woodland lodge was beautifully appointed and very well equipped.Have been coming to this site for spring and autumn breaks for the last 20 years, and although it needs a bit of TLC in places, on the whole, and for very little money, you get a good base for touring the beautiful Cornish coast. The entertainment though leaves a lot to be desired, and some of the 'stripeys' I wouldn't pay with washers ! I appreciate that the season may have been a long one, but the bingo is a disgrace, with kids running all over the place and some of the staff acting like 9 year olds, we could only stand an hour a night !! Oh, for the days of Janice and Karinda, apart from that, if it's a clean , comfortable self catering break your'e looking for this place fits the bill.

Room Tip: Woodland lodges are the best

It's so unusual to read a poor review about our entertainment. If you read other reviews on this site you will see that the majority rate them very highly. However, the world would be a boring place if we all liked the same things.

We really hope to see you again in the near future.

what can i say except the best holiday park ive been to and ive been to a lot all over the uk
the accommodation is very clean but did feel very cold to start with but the heaters had been left on for us and these did very quickly warm the rooms, on the first night some of the lights did not work but these were fixed very quickly even though we did not tell reception until very late on Saturday night.

Good place to stay for a base to explore Cornwall but you will need a car as not near anywhere. But good train service into St Ives not far away but no footpaths if need to walk.

Have just come back from St Ives Holiday Village and what can I say about it. Well from the first moment you walk into Reception you are greeted by the most friendliest and most helpful from the Reception staff Ray and Christine (what excellent customer service). The accommodation was out of this world it was very clean, home-like so would like to thank Martin Harris and his team (yes it was one of the new lodges but before people complain we have also stayed in the woodland accommodation) but it is what you make it, we have always found the accommodation to of a high standard. The bar staff are very welcoming and friendly (no matter what you drink whether it be tea or alcohol) they are always happy to serve. What can I say about the Entertainment Team (Striperys) absolutely fantastic (Sammie Leigh Ents Manager, Frankie, Kaci (Assistant Ents Manager), Lucy and James), these guys work really hard to make sure that you have a fantastic holiday, no matter how many people are in the club. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they make you feel special and not just a holiday maker. Overall everyone that we have mentioned (especially Reception and Entertainement team) have made our holiday and look forward to seeing them all again very soon

Room Tip: Try to visit before you go and if possible ask to look at some of the accommodation before going as...
