we think £20 a night for just a tent pitch just out of season is a bit much, but for this well run, spotless site with all amenities overall it was worth it. the food was good, and plenty of it, the washing facilities were excellent, the swimming pool was a luxury, transport down to St Ives, great, but like I said, for us northeners a bit pricey

Having stayed here a number of times there is not a lot ,or anything you could complain about, but I do think it is time that they put up a strong hand rail over the stones that lead you into the next field and again as you try with difficulty to step down onto the road to begin your walk down the lane to st ives, having seen a young lady with children asking for some help as she had slipped and hurt her foot,I dare say "the management is not responsible" would be the reply, but it would make it a lot safer!....and the food I have to say Alex and Lee are just lovely talented people that produce fab food at great prices.

Room Tip: remember you can't buy food or drink from the bar in the day only at night times .

We stayed at Polmanter for a week and will definitely be going back next year. A very well run site the only problem being it went too quick.the best thing about the site was although it was full it still went quiet at night which was great for getting the children to sleep.

We camped at Polmanter for the first time at the end of August for 6 nights, although the site was fully booked for the first 4 nights the pitches are so well spaced with plenty of wash facilities this was never a problem! We were blessed with good weather so were able to enjoy Sennen Cove and Perranporth Beach which are beautiful and well worth the 45 minute journey.Shower and toilets were always spotless and if you avoided the 6-7pm rush then there was no queue, showers were fantastic, hot and powerful! The whole site was very well maintained and always clean and tidy. Check in was swift and smooth and as my hubby was keen to watch the footie the lovely chap on reception got out a map and wrote the names of pubs in St Ives where he could go to watch it.We stayed on pitch147 and although it was a shared pitch it was very spacious and sheltered with lovely countryside and sea views. We only visited the bar once and as it was bingo night there was not a seat to be had so would recommend you arrive early if you plan to eat or have a few drinks. As our pitch was available on our departure day we were able to pay £10 to keep our pitch till 6pm which meant we could take our time packing away. On departure we booked for the same pitch in the same week for next year, and the lady on reception informed me that they are already filling up for next August! This says it all!

Recommended by a friend and this is our 2nd visit. Last year we walked the 20minutes down the country lane daily to the beach. This year due to a leg injury we have had to use the bus that comes to the site on a regular service excellent to get to town if needed. Great views, good bar and food including take away, pool, park you could easily just stay on the site.
