The cream tea was gorgeous - the scones were huge and very filing. Glad we walked by, it was lovely.

We went to the pop up restaurant Lucky 8 last Friday evening and loved it. The Asian food and atmosphere were a refreshing break from the standard fair you find around St Ives. We shared a couple of the starters, which were superb - prawn fritter with really nice tempura and a mayo style dip and a spring roll with a rhubarb dip, there was nothing left on the plates. For mains we had the chicken noodles, which again had my taste buds tingling. Good music selection too. We will be back.

We ate at the pop up here the other night - thought it was very mediocre and overpriced - not high end restaurant food - which is fine, but we were charged high end restaurant food prices! The setting is lovely (Olives cafe) and it seemed like they were trying really hard, - but there was a distinct lack of what you'd expect in a restaurant and it felt quite awkward - lacking soft drinks - other than fanta, coke, sprite - not even any sparkling water, - inexperienced young waiter who kept calling me 'dear' (WEIRD!) and luke warm food. The starters were all lovely, the noodles were tasty to be fair, but the pork belly (£14) was very fatty and both pork belly & rice was almost cold on arrival. Dessert of "pineapple and mint sherbet" was not sweet, curdled and full of ice - obviously hadn't been made properly - it was horrid. And to charge £5 for it was ridiculous - It was a dish of spooned out 'bits' of it covered in strawberries. Hugely disappointing & expensive with it. But I guess that's what happens with pop ups - you don't know what to you're going to get and can't read a review - hence this one. Sorry!

Great cake selection with generous portions. Very nice tea too. Nice spot for some afternoon tea and a rest after a long walk around St Ives.

We saw the board in harbour saying olives cafe so went to explore and have a quick lunch was greeted by a lovely pleasant lady ! Ordered tea and baguettes came very quickly but were not baguettes as such ! Were very thick chunks of bread off a bloomer loaf loaded with a spread huge lettuce leaves everything was huge tomatoes very thick ham that you couldn't put your knife through couldn't pick the beast up or cut it !! With out losing all dignity and spreading it everywhere would of been better a quarter of the amount on normal size baguettes it's a lovely little cafe in delightful spot olives has got some wonderful reviews but should not be above criticism as I noticed owner did not take kindly to a previous poor review
