My husband and I have stayed at The Grey Mullet twice now and are looking to return in the near future - we wouldn't stay anywhere other than here when visiting St. Ives. The location is perfect, the staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is lovely; very filling and everything you could want for your breakfast is there. Parking can be a bit of a chore as we had to queue to park in the car park but you expect that in a tiny fishing village and its so pretty here you couldn't really complain..you get parked up eventually and can always 'recover' with a nice meal in one of the local restaurants or pubs:) The rooms at The Grey Mullet are comfortable, clean and well equipped, and the little cottage annex is great. I would highly recommend staying here for a romantic getaway b&b, families and even business stop-overs - the breakfast will certainly get any day off to a good start. Will happily be returning:)

Lovely, quirky little guest house! Right in the middle of St Ives! A homely feel, with a welcoming attitude! I loved the hotchpotch ye olde world feeling to the common space, winding little staircase, old fashioned dining room with a lovely breakfast served in the morning. My room was nice, suitably clean, the bathroom was modern and stocked with nice toiletries. Only thing is I thought it would have been nicer to have the tables a bit more sociable in the dining room, maybe one big communal table. Other than that I had a great stay!

Room Tip: if your travelling alone, they will charge the full double amount for a double room.

I spent the bank holiday weekend here and loved this little place. Its a gorgeous old building in a perfect position 10 seconds walk from the harbour and smack in the middle of the shops, restaurants and pubs.
the staff were lovely and after showing us to our room left us to it, which was fantastic. we had a little en suite, which was big enough for us, the bed was lovely and comfy and we had tea/coffe making stuff. dont need anything more from a room really.
breakfast was great, plenty of choice and delicious. it was served earlier than i would have liked, but thats not a complaint, its just me being lazy! (who wants to get up at half 8 with a hangover??!)
we had no problem finding parking (the island car park, £6 ish for 24hrs)
if you're looking for a friendly, relaxed base while in st ives (thats not too far to stumble back from the lifeboat pub on a saturday night) then this is perfect. no sea views, but why would you want to look at the sea from inside when its a 10 second walk away? will definately be staying here again. cant recommend this place enough.

Overall this is a great b&b smack bang in the centre of st.ives. Small little rooms with lots of charm from an old drinking house that dates back to the 1700's!! We were left to our own devices and felt like we were not imposing on anyone!! Would go back again

Stayed at the Grey Mullett Feb 2012,having stayed here previously. The guest house is well situated just behind the harbour, therefore avoiding too much hill climbing.A short walk from the car park makes it easy on the legs!! The guest house is quaint and charming, and the rooms are clean and tidy.Jane and Anita serve a first class breakfast,to set you up for the day. Prices are very competetive and i feel provide great value for money.See you next year ladies, and thank you for another pleasant stay

Stayed at the guest house in February 2012 with eight friends. This is our third visit and we had another excellant stay. Anita and Jane gave us a nice welcome. We were able to ring ahead before we arrived and we were able to check in at 12pm. The guest house is in a great position some rooms overlook the beach and its great to be able to hear the sea. The breakfast was first class. We were given a parking permit, but I know the permits are limited but there is a public car within walking distance. I will return soon because this guest house is so convenient, clean and well decorated. it is a great base to explore St.Ives. Jim (wales)

Room Tip: room 5 has a grat sea view and it has twin beds

I would stay here again any time. The location was absolutely perfect, within close walking distance of the Tate St. Ives Museum, the Barbara Hepworth museum, most of the local beaches (Porthmeor and Porthminster), and the strand. The exterior of the building and entrance were beautifully decorated with flowers and vines, and the interior was just as nice. My room was nicely decorated, with a spacious double bed, flat-screen tv, and en-suite wc and shower, and an assortment of teas/coffees and biscuits were provided in the room. Full English breakfast was included, and was quite delicious. My only complaints were that there are no telephones in the rooms (although there is a pay phone in the lobby), and that the desk closes from 10 am to 2 pm, meaning that an arrival between those hours is not always possible (although an arrival close to 10 am was possible for me because I called ahead and requested one). The front doors are locked from 10 am to 2 pm, but key access is provided to guests so they can come and go. Check-out is early, but luggage can be left in the lobby to be picked up later on the departure day. St. Ives is absolutely beautiful (I went in late August), and most everything is within walking distance of the town center. Don't miss the shopping along quaint cobblestone streets, where you can find everything from art galleries, antiques and clothing stores to eateries offering authentic cornish pasties and cream teas.
